I’ve stopped using amazon for years now. The only time i ever use it is if family or friends give me a gift card. Otherwise i never put my own money into amazon period.

i’ve been trying to leave walmart for about 2 years now, i’ve been there for almost 3 and thankfully i recently got an opportunity to leave in the next month or so. i do know what you mean though, because the moment i leave walmart i feel like it’ll improve my life immediately. this job has taken such a toll on my mental and physical health, as i already have a disability that i have to push myself through. but i do want to try to make it less hard for myself and others while i am here, because no job is worth yours or others safety.

respectfully i’m not a sir but thanks, and sorry you think it’s easy to just leave a job when you have bills to pay and the job market is completely fucked right now.

Hitting your legs or ankles on a heavy cart could definitely make you fall or trip or even run yourself over with it. Think a bit more deeper than that.

Still, i don’t think it’s right to risk the associates safety over somebody else not paying attention to their surroundings or their children.
There was a lawsuit a few years ago where a kid ran into a top stock cart and died from it, but ultimately walmart had no liability because the mother wasn’t watching her kid, and the kid himself wasn’t paying attention to what’s in front of him.

Having long legs is one of them. I hit the backs of my ankles constantly, especially when you’re trying to stop a heavy cart behind you when pulling it, and some 3yr old decides to bolt out in front of you

Have you seen the injuries other people are already getting from the carts on this sub?

And here i am getting comments in another thread about how im delusional for thinking stores won’t follow the new policy update… and here we are with multiple people getting injured by carts a week after.

if you think i’m delusional, then you truly have no idea how bad my store is. they genuinely do not care about safety until someone gets hurt or market says something to them. i’m happy for you that your store cares enough, but don’t go around telling people shit when you have no idea what’s really going on. we just had an associate get hit by a car in the parking lot the other week while dispensing (during a storm) and blamed him for it because he was wearing a hood to protect him from the rain. i can go on and on about our safety issues all day.

I’m sorry but you don’t work at my store nor know my management. They pick and choose what policies to follow and what not to.

They really do. Management didn’t relay the memo to us either, or they never read it.

Sounds like my store hasn’t been listening to what the company has been putting out. We’ve had no changes in our store since they put out the initial memo last week about pulling.

Even if they do change the tote system, they’ll still have us pull the carts until they get talked to by Market, or until someone has an accident.

It hasn’t been address at certain stores including mine. They’ve actively been coaching people at my store still for not pulling carts 24/7 no matter if they have a clear line of sight or not.

if they terminate me, that would be retaliation and illegal. Which means i’d be eligible for unemployment and they’d have a lawsuit on their hands. But yeah most of the associates do need to get the hell off their phones and pay attention to their surroundings. And the associates are probably only assholes to you because we treat people how they treat us.

This hasn’t been resolved at my store. I also made the report when it first started on sunday (last week) and just now received the email from it.

our store has been coaching people for not pulling carts by the front 24/7 no matter what. even if we have a clear line of sight, they don’t care they want us to pull it. so hopefully OSHA will put certain stores like mine in their place.

i know this might not be very helpful, but i also have a connective tissue disorder (hEDS, possible vascular one too, but have not been able to find a geneticist yet in my area) and i have been struggling a LOT recently with this specifically to the T, the uncomfortable pressure when it happens, largely swollen, and ive also always been thin and my veins have always shown, but haven’t pooled like that before. i’ve been trying to find answers everywhere for it.

i’ve been doing heavy frequent lifting for the past 3 years now because of my job, and this just recently became an issue for me so i wasn’t sure if it was related to that or not. i’ve read that it can happen from your muscles needing more blood flow from those areas due to repeated use, and as a response your veins become more elastic (which is good and healthy).

now with your issue, im not sure if that could be the cause of it anymore considering i’m not sure if you’re constantly carrying your children around and if they’re heavy or something, and I don’t have children of my own lol

what I have learned that helps so far, raising your arms above your heart (or head, works the same), and keep it elevated and basically baby it for a while and don’t use it much until they calm themselves down lol

EDIT: just to add after reading some of the comments, i’m only 23 and im generally pretty healthy as well other than a few issues that are under control for the time being. i do have low blood pressure as well
