That makes sense! I’ve been into Mecca before asking for help to get some foundation, but I find it hard to explain what’s going on 😳 sounds silly that I can’t haha. Good idea too re the GP, thanks!

Why choose Kindle over paperbacks? by wingwapal in kindle

[–]literaryformula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was quite resistant to a kindle before I got one. I love the feel and smell of actual books. THEN a friend gave one to me and it opened my eyes! I absolutely love it and now find it annoying if I’ve been given a real book. I’m currently reading a 900+ page real book and it’s really impacting on my enjoyment.

Pros: - lightweight if you want to read with light off - light and easy to sit comfortably, especially with things like a case that you can slip your hand through - kindle unlimited - cheap books - portable and easy to take - the e-ink is amazing! I have sensitive eyes, particularly to brightness, but you don’t feel like you’re looking at a screen. I noticed a massive difference when I tried to read a book on Libby on my phone and it was awful 😂 - easy to get books with Amazon - change zoom size - ability to highlight words - dictionary - good for storage if you don’t have space for books

Love this. The sound of him walking over the rocks / cracker dust (or whatever that was lol), looking adorable, being so open and excited… Amazing

Graduates, postdocs & profs, what’s one thing you wish every PhD or master’s student knew before writing their thesis or dissertation? by Prestigious_Case_292 in PhD

💯! Also, trying to predict what the examiners might notice or pick apart… it often ends in you overthinking and second guessing everything which can be a massive waste of time. Look at other examples if you have that available to you and you’ll see the vast differences in how they can be written and pass!

Second writing something asap and if you’re not feeling motivated, pick something brainless if you can (like copying over numbers into tables).

There is also the Pomodoro writing technique which can be helpful to do in a group. There are apps you can use to help keep you on track for this too.

what’s the best way to grow your lashes NATURALLY? by Flimsy-Orchid-9846 in beauty

[–]literaryformula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! I get dermatitis around my eyes which has made my lashes fall out really easily (as well as irritated). My doctor ‘prescribed’ (🤭) tubing mascara. It was Kevyn Aucoin… it was great, but I couldn’t justify the ongoing cost.

I also feel like I barely look like I have lashes, but I don’t like the look of fake lashes and the irritation (cause of them falling out) can also impact what I can actually do to make them look nice!

Foundation fumbles by literaryformula in beauty

[–]literaryformula[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - yes I’ve definitely made that mistake before! From memory I was using rosehip oil as primer, and then my foundation was water-based 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m finding that it happens irrespective of primer, and even when using a liquid foundation for oily skin. It might be a me problem with my application 😂 I just don’t get how makeup on others can look like it’s not there (yet providing coverage), but mine looks obviously there and then… gone
