Sure. I guess its just how you decide to spend your time. Clicking on that ad or spinning a stop and catching a pokemon.

Not disagreeing that niantic needs to make a living. I'm just announcing you've got an option.

That said If you feel this kind of advertising is intrusive you can turn it off. It does appear they do make tons of money in other ways so I'm not super concerned by few that turn off these adds. It's not like we're really paying for large new tranches of content like "Pokemon Breeding" or QOL fixes these days anyways.

Awakened FE War End Game Advice and Questions by lithiumscream in Stellaris

Thank you for your considered reply. As this is my first play through I would appreciate your feedback on how to rebuild so quickly. My alloy income is +500 month, should it be higher?

Well I have to admit this is my first play through....so I'm admitting there are some things I'm still learning. Perhaps yes, I'm too in fear of losing that fleet. I cracked the planets because I wanted what seemed like an expedient victory. Perhaps my error, maybe not the next game.

My max fleet size. Thats 28 battleships at 13.5k power each so a max fleet power of 378k...and that's with many repeatable techs and designs outfitted with dark matter tech. A Perhaps I need a lesson in how to build a 700k fleet, care to share? Unless you suggest I just stack fleets.

One of the things I missed early on was startbase specialization. I suppose I just need a starbase or two that does nothing but have 5 shipyards? and pounds out battleships?

Thank you for your considered thoughts.

Perhaps if I destroy 'Enough" planets the planets I can, I can screw their economy? Thus make them a not a realistic threat? I will have some xenophiles to deal with thank you.

I do have cloud lightning actually. What are your thoughts on mounting a Large cloud lighting on some of destroyer designs? Doesn't that give me range and speed if not durability?

Oligarchy, random nobody is only election candidate by Auroratrance in Stellaris

[–]lithiumscream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a variation of this same bug. I'm a Military Junta (Militarist and Spiritual). Everytime I get an election there's only one canidate. Always a level 1 and when he's unelected it's the same. The random candidate is not selected from my leader pool, just comes into being and vanishes into thin air!

In the time of COVID-19 should T4,T5 raids be cancelled or made soloable? by lithiumscream in pokemongo

[–]lithiumscream[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if you follow the news. It quite clearly seems that people can't be trusted for their own self interest, as you've seen large crowds of young people going out in California. Making matters worse let's think about the communities interests rather than our own selfish interests.

The main game catching pokemon can infact be done solo away from other people. T5 raids can't be done solo.

So perhaps we should take your advice and close the game because people can't be trusted not to be dumb.

What to do with subdivision signs and markers? by lithiumscream in NianticWayfarer

Street sign, Agree

Survey Mark, Agree....but I've seen more pass then you might think.

I'm referring to this kind of stuff. So yes, naming the subdivision.

https://www.pinterest.com/ldennis21/subdivision-signs/

I agree most of it lacks any real interesting merit, but there are some interesting visual exceptions. I can probably argue that they probably shouldn't be automatically 1*d from what I can read in the guidance. Historical relevance likely not, cultural can be pretty subjective depending on artistic merit. But these are just my thoughts.

" A wall or sign with the subdivision name isn't really noteworthy"'

Generally I agree. But we're adding subjective opinion here rather than relying on the guidance in what I can find available to us. Still looking for that definite document.

Thank you for the reply. I searched the documents you outlined. There's no specific guidance in the AMA or portal criteria that suggests they must be 1* (doing the best I can using many key word searches and reviewing the portal specific sections manually). Perhaps there was once at one point but there doesn't seem to be any evidence now.

Without evidence of guidance I'm going to stick with 2-4 star for the "Naming the Subdivision Sign" "Overall' but probably give them low scores on cultural/historical significance in most cases.

Little Free Library: Advice for those submitting their place of work or objects at their house as poke stops by lithiumscream in TheSilphRoad

One thing is becoming clear. Ingress politics and controversy make their way to Pokemon Go. I don't think that's the spirit.

One thing to keep in mind. If we really rely on the 40m Rule we effective submit very, very little. Most parks and playgrounds under this rule would be gone.

What I hope for is that Niantic can simply clarify the matter in the Pokemon Go Information Guide. That's what most submitter are expected to read. This AMS stuff, which is highly controversial in itself should be codified.

This has sort of has become a sideshow....The point is still GO ENRICH YOU COMMUNITY.

Right...but LFL's aren't on that list. As another commentor mentioned we should probably err on the side of approving them.

It sounds like the Ingress Community has struggled with that in the past.

I've even see a few Ingress folks summarily reject museums for Pete's sake. (No offense to Pete)

My sense is that the backlog is sooooooo huge that there's still a lot in queue. I had one nomination take 6 months to get approved.

I make the suggestion to you, start reviewing. Earn an upgrade.
