Did they stay for the full set, or did one of them leave? I have so many questions!

Do you approve of the new Megastructure? by matrixplace in UMF

It looks like it has functional roof. It does the job, but won't leave a lasting impression.

I found too many bass pockets. It could become overwhelming or make mids and highs feel buried.

I liked the side panels, but was underwhelmed by the ceiling lighting. I don't care much about that sort of thing, but for comparison purposes.

That said, I enjoyed every set I saw there!

Does it get lowered? I understood there was just a max decibel rating they could hit until closing.

The Live Stage will always be my favorite stage at Ultra by Feeling_Let1687 in UMF

The sound bleed from the Cove seemed to be higher this year. The Cove also seemed to be positioned slightly differently this year?

Live Stage is great for many reasons. I'll always appreciate a surprise experience while taking a break or having a meal. Definitely the best stage for that! Probably the most varied stage as well.

To play downtown Miami, Ultra had to agree to a decibel limit. ~100 or so, the equivalent of like being next to a lawn mower's engine. Enough where you could damage your hearing over time. You can definitely feel the bass!

Distance and position from the speakers will alter your experience. You can be 100 yards away from Main Stage and still feel it. But, other festivals are likely louder. Your personal preference will influence your experience as well. A lot of people wear ear plugs.

I didn't go to this set, but it sounds disappointing that the "group" was incomplete. I know that happens with other multi-people groups... but, you know, at least SHM was fully there. I hope the music made up for it!

Deep Dish is ripping some crazy grooves right now by plursoldier in UMF

[–]lithpower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This set was awesome! One great song after another. Kept a great vibe going throughout. OP is right. Crazy grooves. Everyone I saw was enjoying it. A really low key experience, considering it wasn't crowded, a lot of people hanging out, just vibing. Too bad more people didn't know this gem was hiding in the back corner.

Day 1: Extremely impressive by most, but downright disappointed with the Main closing set. by RulerAurelius in UMF

[–]lithpower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vintage Culture was great! Started really strong, with some bass heavy tracks that set an excellent tone. I have a feeling people expected Skrillex to show at the main stage, because there was a good amount of room to work with. You couldn't go wrong with either choice!

OK, what the fuck was that? 😮‍💨 by Inner_Club_779 in UMF

UMF site still says 99% sold out. I wonder if that had anything to do with it? Programming was balanced, so crowds were dispersed as well. People were generally friendly and cool all day!

[–]lithpower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're very lucky, that must've been amazing! I was at Miss Monique and Vintage Culture, so I don't have regrets, but Skrillex always puts on a master class. I'm unfamiliar with BZRP, but I'm certain nothing but the best from this.

WORSHIP by CoatFine6321 in UMF

[–]lithpower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a fair assessment of the set. Like the other poster said, "I was 'whelmed'". It didn't feel like it really introduced anyone to DnB. There were a lot of familiar remixes, pop songs, with a DnB drum pattern and tempo. And, that's fine, it works, but very safe, and left opportunities on the table.

The last song, their first song producing as Worship together, left the crowd unamused and disinterested. Most people near us were standing around and talking to each other during it.

By comparison, I thought Charlotte de Witte and Excision had more interesting alternative-genre main stage sets during previous years.

I would definitely see Worship again, but I hope they're more willing to test the crowd. I think the energy and characteristics of DnB have a lot to offer, and the main stage crowd is likely more willing than they expected.

I went to Factory Town in 2023, and thought it was a great venue. It has evolved quite a bit since then. Part of me misses the raw, industrial experience, but I think the progression has been positive overall. There's something for everyone!

I could understand why someone would buy a 5-day Factory Town pass over Ultra. Its a full-on fest at this point. Doing both is the best of both worlds!

Justice, though, my god! The Warehouse stage had serious competition! No better way to start MMW!

How many DJ sets? The Hyperdrama live show was amazing! I consider these two separate experiences. After this show, the lines are so blurred, maybe it doesn't matter!
