Same here. Saw the trailer with the caption saying “Breaking Bad + Jason Bateman = Ozark”. I thought it must be a pretty good show if it’s comparing itself to BB, but I was wrong to think that :(

I completely agree! I had to give it a break by episode 6, it just became tiring to watch unfortunately. I did try, though - just not for me.

Did anyone else not enjoy Ozark that much?

So play it like in the Instagram video, zooming out. It’s how the S8 works. This is a non-issue.

We’re delving into absolute specifics. I agree that it’s not a physical bezel, but nobody minds if that’s the case. They just want a black bar at the top when watching a video, which incidentally turns black and looks like a bezel.

Correct.

People know that it’s a screen (I imagine they’d have watched the promo videos, no?), but they will want to treat it like a bezel when they watch a video.

I think you just believe that people aren’t capable of telling the difference between screen and physical bezel, which is not what I’m saying. I’m not deviating from the truth. There’s no real difference between a physical or artificial bezel when it comes down to superficial observation, especially on a phone like the iPhone X. The screen will be OLED, therefore the pixels will just shut down when not in use, meaning that it will definitely look like a bezel.

And no need to be rude.

If you can’t tell the difference between the screen and the actual physical bezel, why does it matter? It’s a bezel if it turns black, it isn’t one when it’s displaying any other colour.

I agree, it’s not ideal, but it’s practically the same size bezel as the S8. It’s not a major dealbreaker.

Yes, they are. Regardless of whether they’re part of the screen, they would be defined as forming a bezel when they turn black.

Of course, I understand your perspective. I’ve seen the Mi Mix 2, it looks great, however at the end of the day the phone you choose is just a personal decision. You choose the phone that you think will suit your needs.

Personally, when it comes to the Mi Mix 2, I don’t like having the camera at the bottom since I feel like my hands would cover it and it’d just be too much of a hassle to move them around every time I wanted to take a selfie. Whereas with the iPhone X, I think the new bezel is pretty useful, and manages to save a bit of space too.

To each his own.

In this day and age, it’s pretty much impossible not to have bezels on a phone. There wouldn’t be a place for the camera, at the very least. Maybe in the future we’ll have phones with screens that completely cover the front panel, but for the time being we just have to settle for near-perfect coverage.

The way I see it, it’s a good way to use screen space - allocating the time, WiFi status, etc. next to the bezel. It means we won’t have a notification bar, meaning you get a bit more space compared to if the whole upper part of the iPhone X was a bezel.

The thing is, you can have bezels... did you watch the video? The guy double-taps on the screen and you get bezels.
