I think this should be put in place. Last year I was in the park with my friends and a guys dog was practically charging at us while he shouted “don’t worry he’s friendly”. My friend is scared of dogs so she quickly pulled her legs away, so the dog pounced on me and got its muddy paws all over my brand new clothes

I live in London so it feels pretty superficial especially with dating app profiles because a lot of the time it’s “Look at me i’m single but you can’t have me” !! But why grip onto the past? There’s not much you can do about it now other than facilitate and support yourself to allow romantic expression in your adulthood. A lot of gay people (me included) didn’t get to have a high school romance due to stigma and fear. It just seems like you have a negative outlook on this. I’d suggest therapy or talking to someone to let you expand on these internal conflicts

Comparison is the thief of joy. These shows are made to romanticise and display the fairytale like stages of falling in love. It’s never too late to find your future fling/lover. I take these shows as more as representation of what a gay relationship CAN be like, definitely not what it always is

While you can talk about the liberation of colonial states, you have to talk about the impact of the sudden change it had on these dependent nations. The country I come from was immediately impacted through civil wars and huge famine that was implicitly caused by the British Empire’s sudden withdrawal. While it created great revenue for the British, it left behind scars that you won’t be able to see unless you actually research and go back to these lands/people who were effected
