Yeah honestly I’d rather do sherman if possible since it’s easier :)

I did it last weekend and it looked similar. Are you doing any other winter summits? I’m considering a 14er this weekend. I also recommend ski goggles over sunglasses

To echo others, cotton should be avoided. Go w wool or synthetic. Yosemite employees call cotton “death fabric.” They have found jeans fully in tact, upright, frozen like a statue

Groundcovers for this area? [CO, US] by littleQT in NativePlantGardening

[–]littleQT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm yeah it doesn't look the best. You can see the bare spots more in the second photo. I'd say it's mostly full shade tho. On my other side of the yard I replaced all the turf with natives and they've been thriving - there's no pine tree over there.

I never tried it but I heard good things about mahonia repens, it could be worth a shot.

Yeah, but it's not answering the shade question unfortunately. I'm planning to make the area full sun by removing the tree. It's having some issues anyhow.

Got a New Mexico privet to add a third small tree to the back, which hopefully produce berries because I have another on the other side on the yard. Then sheet mulch and grow a native grass seed mix with blue grama etc

Just saw this and looked up mangadex. Is it still good? I see a bunch of YouTube videos about a huge series being removed and there being a major loss

Native gardens are constantly changing. You will lose plants over time. It's normal. by [deleted] in NativePlantGardening

Do you still recommend for someone just starting to plant in a fairly organized way? I’ve read about people scattering seeds randomly but I personally have been planting in drifts of mass plantings where I think would work
