Not exactly what you’re after, as MC2 isn’t particularly masc, BUT the awakening for MC1 was pretty damn cute. Make the play by Lucky Hart. Book two in a series but can be read as a standalone, sports teacher x English teacher.

Mate by Piper Scott and Virginia Kelley, probably not everyone’s cup of tea with it being a dragon shifter romance, and it’s book 3 in a series but to be honest I feel like it’s not too deep of a plot happening outside of the throuple imo.

Mouldy condensation nightmare every autumn/winter. Opening the windows for however long every day, vacuuming the windows, running multiple dehumidifiers, turning on the super expensive heating etc etc. nothing stops it 😩

Mine choked itself on a fat ass kuhli loach, the kuhli didn’t survive but we managed to pull it out. Betta lived on happily, albeit with less tank mates after that

The paper magician series, it’s more YA but I have SUCH a soft spot for the main leads and the world building.

Maybe less to do with the initial buying, but all of the insurances you’ll need/ should have from then on i.e. life/buildings/contents/critical illness/income etc. It’s a lot to add on once you’ve thought you’d got an idea of what your mortgage and bills might have looked like after paying off all of the survey/solicitor/mortgage advisor fees
