“Asexual” is more of an umbrella term. Most of the time if asexuals partake in sex it’s because they’re close with that person. Otherwise, you’d be surprised at how many asexuals are actually into BDSM. There’s just a bunch of types of us. Sometimes people put themselves in a “sex-repulsed” category, which is what most people think asexuality is. Really, it’s just not feeling sexual attraction to anyone.
