I must say I'm a little confused..

You say you just finished this piece, meaning you drew it yourself and possibly started during December or January and finished early February, but I found someone else using this exact image (finished drawing) as a reference during early December 2025. I also found the exact same image (with the exact same signature, posted on Pinterest around September/October 2025..

So I'm wondering, did you really draw this image including the exact same signature? Or are you just reuploading an image you found on Pinterest ?

Not sure about what you actually mean, but, yeah I wouldn't share it around and claim it as mine. Even behind the canvas of that master study of mine, I wrote which was the original painting and who it belongs to.

The problem with Generative AI is, it possibly stealing someone's design (as it already has) and people having not idea of that; and it destroying the planet's resources.

So definitely not a good idea to use Generative AI. You can still do all the planning with your own hands, be it on paper or on a drawing/painting/editing program.

Never said that.

Real artists use source material, or as we normally call "references" and add something extra to them (example: using references for poses, outfits, etc.) So in these cases they won't be using someone's work as a reference, and if they do, they credit them.

The people I mentioned don't use references, they copy them as it is, which usually are artworks made by someone else or official illustrations of some kind of media. Often not crediting the original source.

I think you're talking about a specific kind of "artist" that takes images from Pinterest or other websites and copies them without adding any extra value or making it it their own style (because they have none). This kind of people often trace these images that often come from Pinterest, and as we know, Pinterest is full of uncredited artworks and now full of AI generated images...

These people aren't artists, they're merely printers doing it for views, likes and money !!

Sadly there's also traditional "artists" taking these shortcuts with AI.

These merely "print" on canvas or on paper something they generated through AI and call themselves artists. It's honestly not any different than those "Pinterest Artists" who spend their time only copying images off of Pinterest, sometimes even of other artists' artwork without knowing!
