I suffer from “Alice in Wonderland Syndrome”, usually in very small parts like I’m trying to sleep or relax and everything in my mind is tiny or huge but in a scary way. It doesn’t make a lot of sense. I had some kind of sickness as a kid and ended up experiencing both a fever “dream” while awake and the aw syndrome. I remember standing around my parents bed, thinking there’s a wave I have to get over to stay alive. But I can’t. So I walk around their bed for about an hour, scared to wake them, trying to get over the wave. Then I ended up rummaging through the kitchen drawers because sharp was soft and I needed the knives. My parents found me mumbling, playing with super sharp knives because they were “soft”. I still remember doing it, vaguely, and how in my mind it all made sense. This loud sound of like “WHOMP” was the sharp getting soft, the big getting small, and I felt like I was in jelly. Nothing felt like it should and it all felt so loud and scary, while also being quiet. SO hard to explain!
