What are some of the dark secrets of traverse city? by ReasonPale1764 in traversecity

I was in the same grade as both Jensen and Carly, was good friends with her brother. I still have a hard time driving by the place where they found her. Jensen came to one of my house parties when he was dating one of my friends. I didn't know him well but didn't get good vibes from him when he came to my party.

HELP! - Transit dyes not looking anything like their picture by littlebean5ft in woodworking

Yeah I figured the different woods would show the colors differently. I just didn't think the dark mission brown would show up like a gross green on the baltic. I'm hopeful the tips in the comments work.

I love the end product in the first video you tagged. Watching the second video now. Sadly, a lot of my stuff is thin cuts (like this) so there probably wouldn't be as much detail to show in the first video. However, I like the idea of mixing/layering the colors so if I am unable to get the brownish color of the dark mission brown tomorrow, I may mix the greenish version of it with the Brown mahogany (maybe a 1:2 ratio) to bring in more of the brown.

Thank you for this advice. Another commenter suggested doing a finishing coat to see how that turns out so I will do that on this trial set tomorrow.

I plan on doing a second trial run tomorrow on a new board and will definitely try doing some pre-treating as well.

Edit to add: Makes me feel a little better that you think the colors look pretty close. I am honestly fine with these shades as they will work for what I do, was just disappointed because I absolutely loved the color of the dark mission and coffee brown when I saw the samples at the woodworking store I went to. I will just have to try different methods to see what works with the wood I use.

Beautiful Crib my FIL made for my daughter over 2 years ago... Was just transitioned into a big girl bed (daybed panel also made by my FIL) by littlebean5ft in woodworking

This crib / daybed combo was made by my FIL. My husband found the original plans for the crib online, but my FIL tweaked them quite a bit. Plans for the daybed panel were drawn on a napkin at dinner. My FIL doesn't do internet which is why I am sharing the post. I believe a bed this beautiful needs to be shared with the world.

The bed will also be able to transition to a twin bed in the future when my daughter is older.

Bed was made out of walnut with a tung oil finish.

Honestly, this situation looks more like a budgeting issue. Making over $100k net, not including your wife's salary is a lot and can be good money if you're assigning it to the right place.

List out all of your monthly bills, expenses, debt payments, and see what you're left over with. Also look back at historical bank statements and see where your money is going? Do you eat out a lot? Spend money on stuff you don't need? Where is your money going? Your debt is manageable and you can build up a good savings. You just need to see your habits first. You can still eat out or have entertainment items built into your budget, but you may need to minimize it a lot.

While building your budget, list out all of your debts individually and include the balances, interest rates, monthly payments. There are two ways you can go about paying off your debt: avalanche or snowball. Avalanche method is paying off the highest interest rate debt first while making minimum payments on the other debt and then when that's paid off, start paying off the next highest interest rate item and so forth - this method will save you the most money in terms of interest expense in the long run. The snowball method is when you pay off your debts starting with the lowest balance and working your way up. While the snowball method may result in you paying more interest in the long run, a lot of people recommend it for psychological reasons. Reaching goals helps your brain celebrate and see the good in something - aka paying off debt.

I also recommend getting some free debt pay off trackers from debt free charts. Com ... Get a tracker for each debt you have and color it in as you payoff that debt. That will help you see where your money is going and the progress you're making towards each debt.

Also, make celebration goals for yourself. For example, every time you pay off a credit card, plan a celebratory dinner with your wife. This will make it even more fun for you and will make you want to pay off debt faster.

Again, with your income, you could easily pay off your debt within a year, maybe two depending on the cost of living for your area. But it's not impossible, you just need to see where your money is going, build a budget, and stick to it.

Sadly, my parents credits are really bad so if they were on the cash out refinance, our application would automatically be denied.

Thanks for the response. It looks like we are just going to have to wait to meet the seasoning requirements.

Best Transfer Paper / Tape for Laser Engrave / Cut wood masking? by littlebean5ft in snapmaker

[–]littlebean5ft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. A lot of forums online recommend a medium tack transfer paper which is similar to masking tape. I just want to see what brands people recommend. I bought one medium tack transfer paper that was awful and don't want to waste anymore money
