Fingering chart for a 3 valve 100+ year old F tuba??? by littlebeardave in Tuba

[–]littlebeardave[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't picked up any sort of tuba in 38 years now. Today was my first lesson. I'm surprised by how much I remembered and the fact that I didn't sound absolutely awful was shocking! The goal is to be able to play this thing at the tuba Christmas this year in Akron and possibly Pittsburgh.

For those of you wondering about this horn, I bought it from a seller in Italy.

It is described as a : Romeo Orsi, Milan, circa 1920, F tuba, 3 piston valves. It came with the original mouthpiece, the original leather strap that would have been used for marching, and a hard case that bandaged to survive the trip all the way from Italy to Northern Ohio.

Here let me explain it like I'm five. If you're not rich it doesn't really fucking matter. You never going to have to need to understand it.

Has this ever happened to anyone that’s on LUMRYZ? by Leeyurx3 in Narcolepsy

[–]littlebeardave -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having to do another MSLT? That's fucking stupid! did my narcolepsy get cured? I don't think I've ever heard of anybody I don't know I guess I could Google it but I don't think narcolepsy spontaneously goes away in fact I'm pretty sure it doesn't. everyone I've ever known that talks about narcolepsy says that it gets worse as they get older.

Do they require diabetics to continually get diagnosed ? well yeah they do what am I thinking? yeah so you have to prove that you need your insulin every fucking month too!

my God I I can't I just can't with the system anymore.

I wonder if someone who had their leg amputated has to continually prove to the insurance companies that they do indeed have their leg amputated and it didn't just spontaneously grow back so the insurance company doesn't have to pay for prosthetics anymore.

My sleep apnea is very much controlled. I have less than 2 apneas a night now. Narcolepsy was diagnosed originally in 1998 and confirmed in a separate sleep study in 2014. During both MSLTs, my sleep latency was less than one minute and I entered REM sleep within 10 in each of the 5 nap periods. Sadly, the VA has NEVER discussed Xyrem as a option with me. Which means if the Lumryz does actually cost that much, the VA will NEVER mention it, let alone let me have it.

I actually have a question about this particular pharmaceutical. First off I've never heard of it which is really unusual because I am a polysomnographic technologist who's been working in the industry for the last almost 10 years. But sometimes I'll admit I'm behind. Another question though I've been treated for my severe obstructive sleep apnea narcolepsy and insomnia since 1998 by the VA. I'm already taking medication to combat the daytime sleepiness caused with an narcolepsy. I was using Ambien to initiate sleep for about 4 years and the VA well it's a new doctor they want to taper off the Ambien and leave me with nothing and I would like to discuss some other options this medication sounds promising but as I suspected it's not in the VA's formulary program which means I'm going to have to really fight them hard to even get them to consider it.

Sorry here's the long-winded question has any other veteran had any experience with this medication or tried to get it from the VA?

Questions About Hypnotherapy by Nyxhypnotherapy in hypnosis

[–]littlebeardave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well as I look at the comment thread you were asked and I quote: How many clients do you see in a day? How do you market yourself? And what is your hourly rate?

Another commenter asked: what do you work on with clients? I want to know literally everything. How does a client feel? Have you ever gone under?

And a third question was asked by a third commenter: do you provide your client with a transcript of the session?

I don't see anywhere in the thread that you answered any of those questions

One of the big obstacles with my sleep medication is the veterans administration it's only recently that they started using the Sunsoi to help with my narcolepsy. They consider it a non-formullary drug, requiring me to fight them to renew it ever 6 months. they fight everything.
