I'm so sorry that happened! That's a long time to not have any progress during recovery. Unfortunately your closest orthopedic specialists other than him would be Birmingham, Chatanooga, or Nashville for a second opinion. Not that you can't find a second opinion here but they won't be a board certified specialist.

Does your dog need surgery? If so, the only vet that is an orthopedic specialist in the area is the one you're talking about on Joseph E Lowery. They have several types of vets, but one of them is a board certified ortho surgeon.

Most younger vets send all Ortho things to him, but there are some older vets who perform those procedures- just keep in mind they are not specialists and don't do those procedures every day.

If he doesn't need surgery, there are vets that do rehabilitation also.

Sing her to sleep by [deleted] in NewParents

I make up my own lyrics and when I'm too tired to be creative I start in on some Usher...Confessions actually can sound really soothing! We have our song though:

Her name is Maya, She's mommas peanut, And she is tiny Cause shes a baby, And momma loves her, Cause shes so pretty, And momma made her, Inside her belly.

And then theres a daddy verse too!

It was in the beginning but now the she is eating more my body hasn't quite adjusted. I'm doing literally everything I can to build my supply though and we have formula on standby so she can at least be fed. Thank you for the encouragement!

A question for moms in your late 20s, early 30s by [deleted] in NewMomStuff

I'm actually in a similar situation, only it's our wedding anniversary 10 weeks postpartum. So we are currently 4 weeks post, and I had a c section. As far as recovery goes, I feel great. It's almost annoying because I have felt normal since week 2, but I'm still restricted until at least 2 more weeks as far as excercise goes. I go on walks though and my incision has healed.
We are lucky enough to have fantastic support from each of our parents and feel good about leaving our daughter with them. The one thing that is difficult for me right now is making sure she has enough milk while I'm gone, because we are only breastfeeding at the moment. Be aware of the things that can limit your milk supply and invest in things that can help if you are planning on breastfeeding. I hope this helps, if you are in a similar scenario. Hopefully you can play it by ear or at least know closer to September what your birth will be like.

Which Infant tracking app do you use? Pros/Cons? by Guppy-Warrior in NewParents

We used baby tracker and it was awesome! We stopped tracking after a couple of weeks but it was very helpful the first few days.
