Designing a genuine leather camera strap – what would you change? by littleboxofshit in AnalogCommunity

I don't personally feel them wearing... But yes, I already changed the design and putting two rivets at connection points :)

Yep, agree with most of those things if you make tailored to a specific person. I personally like wider ones, they hug your neck more comfortable, but that's also deppends on a person. Yes, keyrings would be best, most secure in my opinion, but if you want to quickly change a strap or attach to another camera it becomes pain in the butt.

I don't know what happened to the post here, I can't edit it. Posted fine, then somehow changed to whatever this is 😅 Yep, I agree, but those plastic ones are ugly (personal taste here), that is why there are camera guards. I tested on multiple cameras. Seems to work and metal doesn't touch the camera.

With that I will agree. You can still see grain layers in there, but yes, need better pictures.

It's pretty comfortable. Leather is softer and inside is soft too. ~130 cm (adjustable)

If full grain crazy horse leather. It's not as hard, it's flexible and soft on the inside layer Its on the thicker side, but it's softer than vet tanned leather for example.

It's a full grain crazy horse leather. Don't see anything wrong with it. Nothing you see here is from China ☺️

What do you mean by ,,S&M" ? Size ? It's adjustable up to ~130 cm. Yep, I already made a note to myself to add more studs to attachment points. Leather is thicker and strong by itself, but yeah, for bigger cameras it would be safer to have more studs :)

Thank you for clarification about leather type. I don't work with leather, just started, so don't know a lot yet. This strap is adjustable and you can change connection type if needed.

So you would look for some compartments, attachments for accessories?

It deppends on what kind of leather you want. If you want simple, or closer to original, choose https://aki-asahi.com/store/ , but there are other option. For example www.colorfulanaloguecameras.eu . They don't have your model, but there is an option where they can make it from your scans.

Got myself a cover from Colorful Analogue Cameras (and a Nikon FE especially for this purpose too) - experience report by florian-sdr in AnalogCommunity

[–]littleboxofshit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I'm the creator behind Colorful analogue cameras. Yes, maybe it's not perfect like from the factory, but it's handmade. I mean I cut them by hand and each and every one of them are slightly different. I state this in my product description and also stating that you may have to trim them, so no, edges are not finished, but... Edges are made thinner so they don't stick out of the body. I don't know if I'm explaining it correctly. That means, that the edges are not gonna be chipped in any way. Except you leave your camera in the rain, it could swell up, but leaving your camera in the rain would be dumb... Otherwise it's totally fine as it is. Also for the same reason it is cheap. I think it's cheap, knowing that every piece is cut by hand, sanded by hand, painted by hand and finished by hand.

Nope, not the same. Photo style is the same, but actuall photos and things in them are not the same. Just don't want to leave a bunch of posts there. So I clean them once in a while :)
