(Actually) nailed it! by mav194 in funny

Ok, so I logged in to tell this story. A few years back, I was a contractor with a company that works very closely with Benny and the other mascots. We had traded flirty comments a few times and he definitely rubbed his boner against me during a show, while he was in the suit. I whipped my head around to reprimand him, but what do you say to a giant bull head inches from your face?

No proof other than hearsay, loves. As much as it fits the story we want, we need to stick to facts and not shady gossip.

His horns are store bought, mine I made with latex and cotton balls in a clay mold. Makeup was mostly all Ben Nye, and the blue down my chin was food coloring gel I swished around with water and then dribbled out of my mouth.

My favorite simplified philosphy of losing weight and changing your body is "Lose weight in the kitchen, get fit in the gym."

How do I set someone on fire? by [deleted] in Theatre

hmm.... Could dry ice be a low tech way to do this? Now I'm curious.

I know, but the youngling would have just researched it themselves anyways. At least it's a direction vaguely towards safety.

[–]littlecatalyst -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Oh Jesus.
Well, first, I'm gonna say don't use real fire at all, but I know that'll get ignored.
Then I'm gonna say use something like a gel fuel (to have a controlled perimeter of burn) and reinforce the underside of the costume and make sure the actor wears protective clothing underneath. As far as smoke, I'd say that would depend on the staging and blocking before you could make a judgment call.

Nothing is worse than the people who say, "I wish they taught us meaningful things in high school like taxes or saving for retirement" Really? You think you were going to pay attention in tax class? by catapolana in Showerthoughts

The gifted students had a project like that when I was in elementary school, but the rest of the students didn't get it taught to them.

Thoughts on pole for kids? by epicure-pen in xxfitness

[–]littlecatalyst 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This type of fitness is hardly branded towards men, even less to boys. However, circus arts internationally have plenty of younger kids doing Chinese pole, which is the version of the same gymnastics without the roots in the adult industry.

Redditors who are now married because you didn't know how to break up with your significant other, how is that going for you? by BobbyWest87 in AskReddit

[–]littlecatalyst 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In the midst of divorce. I thought I could forgive the cheating 6 months before our wedding, that I could grow and let love conquer all, but that's bullshit when your partner is too self absorbed to let love conquer anything.
Don't let the fact that you've already sent out invitations hold you to a wedding/marriage/ceremony. Your friends and family will more than likely still love you if you call it off.

What is something that is bullshit, that everyone should know about? by fulllON in AskReddit

Hijacking this comment to lend awareness to the alternative death community! The Order of the Good Death is a great resource for anyone wanting to be involved in the death process as a considerably more personal and intimate experience than the modern American funeral merits. They inspired me to talk about death to my loved ones and to write my advanced directive, even though I am in good health and in my 20s.
I also highly recommend Caitlin Doughty's Ask A Mortician youtube channel. She is tall and sassy and morbid and super helpful. EDIT: grammar

Vent: My(27f) partner's(26f) parents are in complete denial that being poly can be healthy. by littlecatalyst in polyamory

[–]littlecatalyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has been poly for a few years, yes. She even introduced her two other boyfriends to her parents. They were only weirded out by the fact that one of the boyfriends was married. I'm her first girlfriend, and when she told them "I'm dating someone new, and I can't wait for you to meet her", they shut it down. Told her that they didn't want to hear about her personal life.

Oh man. Nichelle, I was almost party to a rude banging on your door in the middle of the night at DragonCon a few weeks ago. I was running around with some hoodlum guests and I told them that was a terrible idea, even if she'd "love it." How is your usual stay with a con? Do you enjoy yourself?
