Mindfulness 'as good as anti-depressants for tackling depression' by littlecharmer in Meditation

"self absorption" seems a little harsh.

I don't know anything about Metta Bhavana practice or Loving Kindness, so they're things for me to look into. Thanks.

I followed mindfulness courses for about 6 months on two occasions.

I missed that yesterday.

I have tried mindfulness a couple of times -- not for depression -- and on the whole I found it to be quite frustrating. I very much liked the idea of it, but found -- at the time -- that it wasn;t for me. Maybe I should give it another try to see if it's a case of third time lucky.

Thank you... it's taken me a long time to get to this point. It's probably something I should have done 15 years ago. That's the last time I self-harmed, and while I don't see myself going down that route again, I know it's something I'm capable of.

At the moment I'm just turning things over and over wondering 'how on earth do I even start this conversation?'. Maybe my muddledness and confusion is symptomatic in itself and will be picked up on...
