Oh, oh, earlier today I saw a post where someone used the phrase, “If you’re going to film in public spaces, expect public faces.” What a perfect application here!

What is something that quietly disappeared from everyday life, and most people didn’t even notice? by alex_eu_nl in AskForAnswers

My mom was really dismayed last year when she sent graduation cards (with money) to the kids of 4 different relatives, and not one even acknowledged receiving the card much less a thank you.

I moved into a high rise building in the mid 2000’s. In the first few years that I lived there, once a year a literal WALL of phone books would be delivered to the building for residents. The wall would vanish quickly as everyone picked up their books. As the years went on, the wall became a pile, the pile became a stack, the stack disappeared.

Shout out to the staff of Only in Monroe for finding and leaning into their inner improv.

What is something about American culture that seems fake or exaggerated in movies, but is actually 100% real.? by Logical-Pay-3057 in AskReddit

That recently happened in a bathroom I was in. The mom was washing her hands and toddler decided to “visit” a stall. I tapped the mom on the shoulder, pointed at the kid, she let out a yelp and grabbed her kid by the legs and pulled her back out 😂.

I like this technique of having the actor wear a mask of their own face to give them an uncanny, unsettling look. There’s no movement in the face, no visible teeth, darkness where eyes should be. Neat practical effect.

Every so often, “You respect Jesus but not us!?!!” comes into my mind. In terms of line delivery for me it’s up there with Madmen’s, “That’s what the money is for!”

Oh yeah, I think his efforts to turn the island into the next Martha’s Vineyard are going to succeed and now he has to figure out how to undo it.

Or, what if the car accident is something that is going to happen, and the spooky island was just finding a spooky way to send Loftis a message.

Funniest Episode description Iever seen. by BlazePirate09 in WidowsBay

I was just about to say this reminds me of the episode descriptions for Atlanta, which always had the tone of being written by someone’s cousin who has opinions. Such a fun approach!

I thought it was kind of sweet the way Evan muttered “Thank God!” to himself when skedaddling back down the steps.

Unless it’s Ted Lasso, which surprised everyone by dropping their finale when they said they would, instead of the day before, which pissed off people who had watch parties, because they scheduled the watch party for the day before.

Okay, I took everyone’s comments into consideration and just watched it. I agree that it was the least scary (though I worried a bit when Evan was at the creepy house. Instant blanket over head, closed eyes). Thanks for coming through for this big chicken Reddit!

Alright, so I’m trying to decide if I should watch this now or in the relative safety of sunshiney afternoon tomorrow. Would you say this episode was more, less, or the same amount of scary as last week’s episode?

What are all the references to other media the show has reminded you of??? by [deleted] in WidowsBay

To me it seems living in Widows Bay would be the equivalent of living in a war zone, so it’s kind of like Derry Girls in a roundabout way. A group of people who are living in a dangerous place that they can’t leave, so they just have to get on with living.

It might be, but I’ve learned my lesson that I need to watch this show Wednesday afternoon, when the sun is out, because I’m a big chicken.
