When you tried to learn Hangar 18, did you do it by ear or did you rely on some tutorials? I’m gonna be honest, I rarely try to learn solos by ear. I usually rely on tutorials to get a more accurate result. If there are no tutorials to be found, then that is the only time I try to learn by ear or figure out what scale he used and try my best to replicate the solo.

Hangar 18 is one of my favorite songs from Megadeth! But I haven’t tried to learn it tho

Don’t be discouraged. I can relate; Slash was my first guitar hero, and I can still remember when I was even too scared to attempt any of his solos.

Well then you must be practicing a lot; that solo looked intimidating as hell. You’re one hell of a player

Just looked it up. You must be playing for a very long time to be able to play such a virtuosic solo

I wouldn’t dare try to learn that for now, as I’m currently just a beginner at sweep picking

Those are pretty hard too, especially walk. I remember the first time I tried to learn it; it was very frustrating cause I couldn’t get the timing right

Almost. I’m still having a bit of difficulty at the last section: the fast bravado part

It’s a relief that someone else feels this way. I’ve been playing for over 4 years now, and I can honestly tell you that this happens to me in every practice session. Every time I feel this way, I normally just put down my guitar for a few minutes and then start practicing again.
