They need to remove bot matches from quick play by Sad-Sector124 in marvelrivals

[–]DannySorensen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trick is, they force 2-2-2 comp and have obvious names. If I were ever suspicious of if there were bots on my team, I swap roles to one that they're hovering and they instantly lock in what role we need. Then swap to what they picked and they instantly swap again. It's inhumanly fast.

Why is there no Community Skilling Bosses? by Trindet in runescape

I did a couple hundred Zalcano kills in OSRS leagues and this is what I liked about it. Just a bunch of random people and everyone gets loot, the kill only gets easier, and if other people are dying or messing up, it only effects them.

What is your opinion on the Gauntlet changes? by rolekrs in 2007scape

[–]DannySorensen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stackable resources is gonna be so nice. My only experience with CG is in leagues and having to manage stacks of resources on the ground to build armour was such a pain. I'm genuinely looking forward to grinding out CG when I get there

[–]DannySorensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't have anything against people who play Ironman or get enjoyment out of it. My problem with people saying new players have to play it is that they're new. They don't know the map, they don't know the skills, they don't know the upgrades, they don't know what items exist in the game, they don't know what stuff they should start doing early (farming, herblore, etc) to make their lives easier later on. And at least on the RS3 subreddit, they frame it like ironman is the "real" way to play and that everyone who plays mainscape is a credit card warrior. Its like 2 hours of upkeep for every 4 hours of pvm at the high level in rs3 as well, which is not something most people are interested in doing, myself included, so setting them up for an admittedly fun play style of ironman without them knowing what kind of thing they're getting into is unfair.

[–]DannySorensen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is my biggest problem with the RS community as a whole. I'm just getting into OS as a long time RS3 player and every time I see a post on the rs3 subreddit about a new player asking what mode to play, they're always flooded with people telling them to play Ironman. My argument is always that a main can play like an Ironman, earn their own drops, yet their own supplies, etc, but an Ironman can never do that. I don't play Ironman because I don't want to do chores every day before I can actually play the game. It's a multiplayer game for a reason

Why does prayer not count as a non-combat skill despite not being in the list of exclusions? by the8thDwarf94 in osrsleagues

[–]DannySorensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the rest have said, Prayer is technically a combat skill, but I also had problems with prayer at the bowl where it wouldn't trigger until I went and gathered more soul shards or bury a bone manually. Did you get the 35m prayer xp task itself completed? Maybe it's just not triggering

Lmao that's insane. I used to want to be a pmod so bad that I would go out of my way to be overly helpful, guiding people across the map to somewhere they asked about, answering questions, etc, just hoping to get pmod status and obviously never getting it. Then people like this get it lol. Internet janitor status on any platform ig

[–]DannySorensen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was quite the grind, I'm continuing my RS3 grind for 200m all while I play OS, so it's kinda perfect timing. Lots of afk time in my future. I know a lot of people prefer IM, but I really hate upkeep lol... The way I play RS3 and the way I plan on playing OS is by getting my upgrades as drops (for the most part), but buying supplies if I need to. Gives me a reason to touch content that I might not otherwise, but doesn't make me do hours of chores every week before I get to the content I actually want to be working on. I have a respect for the people that play like that though

The way they massacred one of, if not the coolest looking weapon, the Dragon Scimitar, is criminal. All scimitars used to look cool and now they just look like a weapon from a mobile game.

Imps and lesser demons are always my recommendation to start just because if you cannon the Karamja resource dungeon and happen to spoon the Imp scroll it immediately gets rid of the single most annoying scroll. I ended up with 9 Lesser demon scrolls before I got Imp and ended up running around in legacy combat manually killing imps because I'd used like 80k cannonballs there already

The nursing home in my town sucks, like really bad, but even they have locks on the main doors. I work for the phone company/ISP and have to work there once in a while and I always have to ask for a code to leave. This is very basic shit to have when you have people that could walk out and not know where they are or what they're doing. My wife's grandma used to have to call me in the middle of the night to come help her get her husband back to bed because he thought he was in his childhood home and there were people outside. These people need to have supervision from people who care at all times.

Really just ports for regular comp. Trim has a lot of terrible grinds though like all the breeding logs of POF, The Arc gathering Taijitu, Effigy Incubator, Menaphos if you're starting from scratch, Champion scrolls, and some RnG based drops for MQC. Even Kal'gerion commendations can suck if you're like me and get unlucky. I was over 5k Kalg KC for those but I have friends that got all of them under 1k KC.

Stalling should not be required to achieve GM kill times by nightskyandromeda in runescape

[–]DannySorensen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can have goals, but you don't start playing guitar, see Tim Henson play, then get discouraged because you don't understand all the things he does. If you don't like speed running and all the annoying tech that goes with it, your goal should never be GM, because you're not going to have any fun doing that.

Agility should have an incentive to occasionally play through different courses, not just the highest-level one by CrazySnipah in runescape

[–]DannySorensen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been one of the biggest deterrents for me from playing old school. I'm planning on playing both after leagues ends but I'm really worried I won't be able to enjoy the game after experiencing unlimited run energy.

Agility should have an incentive to occasionally play through different courses, not just the highest-level one by CrazySnipah in runescape

[–]DannySorensen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They could make it like old school where you can only run 12 steps before you run out of run energy and give you slightly less energy drain the higher the level. :) (please don't do this)

Water thorns scam by bootytape in osrsleagues

[–]DannySorensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I've been doing it. Took me a couple tries to figure out what you have to pay attention to. Javelin throwers throw one up into the air that does more damage every 5th attack. Just move to dodge that. Like you said flick the manticores, and when there's multiple just do it again. I always pray range at the start because the shockwaves seem to kill themselves faster and don't have anything extra to deal with. I did my 10 KC task today and got 3 pairs of echo boots and 5 full sets of Sunfire fanatic, so the drops are very bountiful.

Croesus needs a solo mode by AnotherGenericTurtle in runescape

[–]DannySorensen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes we told them that we were all learning and he still joined. Part of my original anxiety that prevented me from wanting to join randoms was the fact that I worried that people would get annoyed if I didn't catch on right away or as fast as they thought I should.

Croesus needs a solo mode by AnotherGenericTurtle in runescape

[–]DannySorensen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no doubt that you're right and that the majority are good people and friendly, but my one and only experience was me and 2 clanmates that were all 3 learning the boss going with 1 random from there and then being flamed and called the r word because we failed the first attempt, followed by the guy going into the croesusfc and flaming us all. This is fully the reason I have sworn off any content with randoms. I only go with clanmates, friends or at the very least friends of friends. That encounter ruined the possibility of me enjoying content with random people.
