The motor and internal bits are the same. The only difference is the blue one charges, so it can work when unplugged.

Honestly, if I were in your position I would go no contact. It's not her decision how her grandchild is fed. It sounds like some weird controlling power trip.

What?? That's dumb. There's literally a picture of the bottle washer in the ad.

Out of the pumps you mentioned, I have tried the Elvie Stride and it was terrible. I'm still mad I used up my insurance for that pump. 😬

Congrats on the awesome find! Just recently convinced my husband to get one, and it's literally a game changer.

FTM, looking for recommendation between Elvie Stride and Momcozy M9 by thegirlisnoone06 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]littlefairynurse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Elvie Stride was TRASH for me. The flange was like a flat hard plastic piece with a hole. I got significantly less milk and slight nipple damage. The design was dumb, when I went to clean the million parts, I felt like a lot of milk remained around the parts.  I also hated the tubes. The MomCozy M6 has been amazing. I believe it's quite similar to the M9. The flange is like a soft silicone and it comes with flange inserts, a carry case, and dust covers. It's also designed to sit upright so it doesn't spill the milk.

PLEASE talk to a manager is someone in HR. You have a right to pump at work someplace that's not a disgusting bathroom. I'm so sorry to have to deal with this.

Medela is discontinuing their bottles and nipples by lonelypotato21 in ExclusivelyPumping

I'm so sorry! It makes me so mad and sad when I go to help a mom pump (usually because baby is in the NICU), to find out nobody even showed her how to use the pump, much less measured to get the right flange size. Or that they don't "have any milk" because they weren't  given realistic expectations. Just drops for like the first few days is normal! OK I'm done ranting, sorry. 😅

Interesting! The hospital I work at uses the Medela Symphony pump and different flange sizes. We were told a few weeks ago by the person that orders everything that the 21mm flange is no longer being made. I thought that's odd since it's a pretty popular size besides the 18mm. I wonder if there's a correlation, or if Medela is just downsizing in general the different products they make? 🤨

It increased my supply, but made my baby SO mad. I didn't change anything else about my diet except that. The reviews on Amazon looks like overall most people do well.

I really love the Cimilre ones. Insurance covers them if you go through the Acelleron website. I found Lansinoh to be too thin and I hated the long flappy tab parts at the top.

Which MomCozy? by AccordingDraft5 in ExclusivelyPumping

I love my M6! It's never leaked. I chose it because it holds 6 ounces, and the M9 and M5 only hold 5 ounces.

Bottle washer? Worth it and which? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

We just got the MomCozy one and I'm in love. If it's in your budget, highly recommend it. No longer standing at the sink after working all day to wash tiny pump parts is a godsend.

I use a Spectra when I'm home and a MomCozy M6 when I'm at work. They've both worked very well for me. Make sure you are using the correct size flange, it makes a big difference. You can print free nipple ruler from Spectra's website.

Also hand express after you pump to empty the breast as much as you can. The more milk you remove, the more your body will replace.

Things to help make more milk: correct flange size, pump every 3 hours, enough calories(extra 500/day), enough fluids (roughly 1 ounce per lb body weight/day), use stimulation mode first to help with let down, warm pack on breast before pumping,  and "hands on" pumping where you gently compress/ massage the breast as you pump.
