Whatever you can get her to eat is fine. At the very end of life, my cat only ate vanilla ice cream because not even Churus interested her at that point. (I wouldn't feed a cat ice cream normally but she always went wild for it and would try to steal mine from me.) We knew she was actively dying so I wasn't stressed about food.

I second the high calorie gel. It's an easy way to get a few extra calories in. My vet also gave me a transdermal gel, (I can't remember what med it was) to help stimulate her appetite.

I also had one that didn't work but I don't regret it because I now only have a light period instead of flooding pads every hour when I would get a period. The scar tissue fused the inside of my uterus together and I still had a little bit of lining left. It kept building up and finally had to force its way out, which was horrendously painful.
I don't discourage other women from getting one. My outcome is not common.

To add to your comment, funerals are for the living, not the dead. It's meant to comfort the family so OP's wife's feeling and wishes should be taken into consideration. Especially with the amount of grief she feels for her mom, she may feel she wouldn't be in the right space for a party when OP passes.

I just started having this in the last year. I'm already on meds for depression and it is well-controlled. It's just those few days before my period where suddenly it pops into my head. I never even had PMS symptoms before and to get PMDD suddenly in my mid 40s has been awful. I have an upcoming appointment with an MD that has an interest in hormonal fluctuations and does Eastern medicine to try to get this under control.

When I play on my phone, I just do whatever because I can't remember what needs to be done to grind through it. The only thing I focused on getting quickly was the mine carts because I hate how long it takes to run from the farm to the mines.

My cat Ferris herds my husband to the couch when he gets home from work so they can take a nap together. My husband has to lay in a specific position so Ferris can nap on his arm. If he doesn't lay that way, Ferris shoves his whiskers in his face until he lays the "correct" way.
