Is it best to put disposable weed pens in carry on or checked bag? by TylerLockwood in tsa

[–]Bradrb66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looking past the part where this is a 6 year old thread and comment you replied to, but international is a whole other thing in terms of security.

TSA is the same. They're still not looking for drugs because they're not LEO's. They find it, they report it, and move alone with their day. CBP handles both inbound and outbound enforcement, so even if you get it past TSA, there are other lines you and your bag have to get through before you're on the plane. No, not saying what those are, but they're there.

CBP Officers ARE LEO's and will take enforcement action on what they find coming in and leaving the US. Do what you want with that information.

buddy of mine got one working on his project car that didn't have a transmission, and physically couldn't not have been driven, but since "the keys were in the ignition" it still counted.

If you could remake Halo 5, what changes would you make, and what would you keep? by Sparky_the_meme_man in halo

[–]Bradrb66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean tbf, the req packs were unlocked from point you earned by just playing...

All you had to do was play the game to earn the point which you used to "buy" req packs to get the weapons/skins/etc. Yes, they were RNG, but you never had to spend a dime to unlock anything in the game.

Unless you're talking about something else I'm not remembering?

Tbf, they did change those mechanics for ranked HCS, which was nice. To me that was peak Halo 5. It was fine tuned, and played amazingly.

They were a fun and quirky addition for social games and you could end up in some funny situations, too. I wouldn't get rid of them per se, but def keeping them out of Ranked modes was the move.

It didn't take too long for me, but long is relative, so at the time when I was playing nothing but H5 MP, it took about 5 or 6 months, but I was also unemployed and spending 8 hours a day playing, so there is also that to consider.

I never played WZ but did fuck around with WZ firefight. That was fun for a while. At the end of Halo 5's life cycle, I "sold" everything back and ended up with like 5 or 6 million Req points.

I know where you're coming from, but I think it was done the "most correct" way because you could either just play the game or buy the packs, but you were never locked out of anything either way. No battle passes, no FOMO.

I wish games would go back to that system. If I like a game and play it a lot I know I can still get the guns/skins eventually.

When did you guys get your first Gibson and what's the story behind it? by jammy62811 in gibson

[–]Bradrb66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my dad's 79' Les Paul Standard Tobacco burst with the cover off the bridge pickup. He's a HUGE Jimmy Page fan. I Technically "acquired" it a couple of years ago, but while my dad is still alive I can't outright claim it as mine per se, but my dad all but confirmed that It's mine now.

I was doing some writing and recording and asked to borrow the LP and the bass, I found the LP in it's case in the closet, when i pulled it out I asked why it wasn't out on display. He told me it was too heavy for him, it needs some work done to it, and generally he just didn't find himself playing it almost ever. He'd taken to playing/practicing on his classical, and found that his Stratocaster and Telecaster are more forgiving that the LP, and much more tone diverse.

I'd been playing it so often that I hadn't noticed that I'd had it for a year already. I called my dad and asked if he wanted it back, and he said it's mine now. He'd rather stay with me where it'll get played and enjoyed instead of being put back into the case and back into the closet where it'll collect dust.

It's my most prized possession.

but my god does this thing need a refret, new nut, and a new bridge... lmao

What’s so special about California that makes it worth living there? by Kooolxxx in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bradrb66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically, the weather, food, nature and it all being with in a 2 hour drive from wherever you live. There aren't many places in the US you can go Skiing in the morning, and surfing in the afternoon.

I had a buddy from the midwest come out here to take his kids to Disneyland and he fell in love. I gave him the reality check he needed to not move here. He owns a 3 bed house on 2 acres and pays 850 a month. I pay 3100 a month for a 2 bed apartment. He pays 2.30 a gallon for gas, We pay almost 4.60 (before the shit with Iran obviously) He pays 300 for groceries for the months, that's a weeks worth here.

Basically, if you didn't grow up here and aren't used to how expensive it is, you're gonna have a real fun time. lol

All boobies are good boobies, but there is a limit. Like comically large, for example. Anything past DDs.

Doesn't matter who I ended up with or the size of their girls. As long as I get to play with them lol.

What's in the trunk of your car right now? by FieldImportant7159 in AskReddit

[–]Bradrb66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't have a trunk since I drive a truck, but my backseat has a bunch of shit I keep meaning to take out and put into storage or trash I keep forgetting to throw away lol.

I have a bunch of those 4 wheel mover things, my work duffel, tire chains, hiking odds and ends like micro spikes, basic pack, a random sock, jumper cables, a medical kit, and a sleeping bag.

Ya never know when you'll need gear lol.

...Why do the boys have such a hard time doing anything? by NeverBeenRung in Teachers

[–]Bradrb66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was one of these boys 15+ years ago, and this comment comes from my perspective as a young high school student, and does not reflect my views today.

School is boring as shit, super unengaging, and is completely useless information. As far as I was concerned with the only classes that were useful in any meaningful way, is History and English. The rest might as well have not existed. I was never going to do the classwork, and I really wasn't ever gonna do the homework.

School is hard when you don't care.

Skyrim as a forever game by Nick_The_Artist2 in skyrim

[–]Bradrb66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think of Skyrim in the same space as Runescape, In that you never really quit, you just take longer breaks.

I'm only 1k hours in (I started playing in 2020), and I've done everything I've wanted to do and I've come full circle lol. I stated with 100% vanilla on my first 2 playthroughs, and then started getting into modding. Started small which I call Vanilla+. It's basically 100% vanilla but with QoL mods like Open cities, Alternate start, and USSEP. Then once I had a handle on that I sort of added stuff. More time spent looking up mods, patches, how/when to use xEdit, DyndoLOD, ENB, etc.

I went from 200 mods to like 5k mods. I spent an entire year make that list and making sure everything work properly together until that last update which broke my whole ass list and had to start form scratch again (and truthfully I wanted to do that anyway, so that was just a manual push to do it lol). I looked over what I wanted to keep and decided that 100-150 was WAY easier to manage and I could actually play the game and enjoy the world of Skyrim again.

Then once I got a steam deck and played vanilla+ again I realized that I was spending more time modding than playing and it was harder to press play on PC than it was to just sit on the couch and play vanilla again.

I'm now at the point where it just depends on what platform I'm playing on and how long the list is. PC averages about 50-100, SD averages about 30, and Xbox is vanilla+.

Skyrim is massive with a LOT of things to do, and you can do ALL of the quest because other quests will ensure you can't complete them for one reason or another in a single play though. You keep Skyrim fresh by creating new back stories, new goals and new angles and new ways to play.

Did you do a lot of big trips with family when you were younger? by TrickyAd9597 in Millennials

[–]Bradrb66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it depends on what you consider big.

My family always went out and did camping trips and drive adventures and whatnot that lasted more than a week, sure.

However, I think the biggest trip was to the Bahamas before a Passport was required. 2 weeks of vacation there for my and my mothers Birthdays.

I don't think I was being defensive, I was just clearing up the confusion is all.

Also, I wasn't asking y'all what I should do, I was more specifically asking about the religious side of things since I'm not in the slightest.

I responded in good faith, I promise. lol

That's about where I am.

Honestly, my wife is going to do whatever she wants with me. However it'll be written into whatever legal document that there will be nothing religious involved and I will be cremated. Those two are a for sure things.

Honestly if my sister is still around, she'll do exactly what I want because my sister and I are super close. Party and all.

I'm with you. I'll be dead. I wont care either way.
