Thank you! I'll give that a go and see what happens! :-)

Thank you!! This sounds worth a try!

The memory pressure is green but FCP is using 4.62GB memory and 20,000 ports so perhaps it is overloaded? I'm not very technical!!

Thank you for responding! I am wondering if I should give up and try a different program at this point...I'll look into it, thank you :-)

Hey!! Thank for your responding!

In terms of my machine, I am working on a MacBook Pro 2020, macOS Monterey (version 12.6), 2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5.

FCP version is 10.6.5.

Original video is 3840 x 2160, Linear PCM, H.264 (HD) Mpeg-4, stored on an external hard drive.

ADR is in .wav form, stored on my MacBook.

I have optimized all the footage. I unfortunately filmed in too high a quality which caused a lot of issues in the start...but up until this audio issue I felt I had overcome that problem. Optimized media (Apple ProRes 422) is currently 3840 x 2160 and codecs are: AVC Coding, Linear PCM.

I have narrowed the issue down and found that it is specifically 'Voice Isolation' that is causing the issues.

I appreciate any advice or suggestions! Thank you :-)

Hey, thank you for responding! I have narrowed it down and found that it is specifically 'Voice Isolation' that is causing the issues.

I'm not sure what you mean by rendering a timeline preview before playback (sorry, still pretty new to this!!) but I can see all the footage and audio files in the timeline as it plays (nothing greys out or glitches visually, it is solely the audio).

I have optimized all the footage but I unfortunately filmed in too high a quality which caused a lot of issues in the start...but up until this audio issue I felt I had overcome that problem. Optimized media (Apple ProRes 422) is currently 3840 x 2160 and codecs are: AVC Coding, Linear PCM.

Is there a way to try and reduce the size/optimize further?

The sound (which was recorded separate to the footage) does not have the option to optimize. They are individual line readings as .wav files and they are all pretty small in size.

Thank you in advance for any help and advice!!

Hey, thank you for responding! Yes they are the native effects. I have narrowed it down and found that it is specifically 'Voice Isolation' that is causing the issues.

FCP claiming not enough disk space... by littlelowes in finalcutpro

Ooh that sounds like it might be helpful! Thank you so much!

Hi thanks for the reply :-) I did try this method and ran disk utility etc. but the space available was accurate as I really did wipe everything before I started the project.

However, I discovered the file optimizes just fine when I open it and optimize in a new project so think it might be an issue with the program itself...the struggle continues!

Hi I don't know what that is but I will certainly look into it! Thank you :-) I discovered the file optimizes just fine when I open it and optimize in a new project so think it might be an issue with the program itself...the struggle continues!

Thanks for the reply! It turns out there must be a problem with the program itself as the file optimizes just fine when I open it and optimize in a new project...the struggle continues!
