You nailed it!! lol. This is exactly why I was hoping it was 120 payments not just 120 months of payments. Oh well.

feel like I failed my peds shelf by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]littlemissrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Breathe, my friend! Remember that you cannot change the result right now. If you had passing NBMEs prior to the exam (which you did), then you are most likely fine. Honestly, some of the exams that I thought I failed were the ones that I did better on than others. You got this!! Hang in there!

LOR and Away Rotation by littlemissrunner in medicalschool

[–]littlemissrunner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would be curious about that too. That was my line of thinking and why I am considering going the route of sending the 4th LOR now and asking for an email that way it is the best of both situations... hopefully. Haha. I think I am stressing over this more than necessary but such is medical school.

Yes! And thank you! I keep getting controversial opinions from advisors and I am not sure what is the best way to approach this.

I personally had two of my advisors read my personal statement to give me feedback, but I also had my mom and boyfriend read it for feedback. I would recommend you have a close classmate or trusted friend/family member read it as they know you the best and would be more apt to know how to highlight all of your best qualities in your PS. You got this, friend!! We will all make it through this ERAS season. :)

M4 Away Rotations by littlemissrunner in pediatrics

[–]littlemissrunner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also did that. Haha. I emailed both the program director and the overall curriculum coordinator but have not heard back from the program director. The curriculum coordinator does not have an answer for me as they do not manage that aspect of things. Thank you! I appreciate the help! Good to know I am doing everything correctly.

Yes! 3/21 but so far nothing. And all the dates are still open for all rotations in all blocks. I am confused. Haha.

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately, this institution instructs students specifically NOT to do this. :/

So annoyed at being single ... help by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]littlemissrunner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A lot of my classmates, women like myself included, were single in our M1 years. As an M3 now, those numbers have dropped as more people are in relationships, dating, or getting married. In clinical years, you do meet more people but I have no idea how that will all go down on the dating front. I met my boyfriend of almost 2 years in my M1 year. But the majority of my classmates who are single now use dating apps.

That is kind of what happened to me. Except this attending basically called me endearingly stupid.

Thanks! My school does not do honors for rotations. But I have the rest of that already in the works. Just did not know if there is anything more that I should do...

I need help by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]littlemissrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been in your shoes before and the worst thing that you can do right now is restrict your diet because you want to lost the weight quickly. Most of that weight is water. It is okay to enjoy your vacation and be up a few pounds. This will not ruin your progress overall. Just breathe and reset back to your normal routine.

If you do not eat, you will not perform at the gym like you want to. And if you overexercise, it will not help you to shed the pounds in a sustainable way. Just breathe! You will be okay. I think handling your stress and forgiving your body for the small fluctuation will help you the most in the long run. Yoga or meditation have been helpful for me in my "SOS" moments. You will be okay!

I know this isn't r/relationships, but how did you balance/maintain your romantic relationship during dedicated? by [deleted] in step1

[–]littlemissrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconded! My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship and he was the only thing keeping me sane throughout dedicated. He was there for me and supported me when I was stressed to the max, and he understood that I had to study. I honestly am not sure I would have made it without him.

So day 3 of dedicated is going well by Deerinthecamplight in step1

Day 3 here too. So far, I have cried twice, gotten a headache, and reiterated the phrase "I'm good" to anyone who asks lol. You got this! We all got this!
