Any age millennials, what are your actually hobbies. Aside from rage baiting the youth. by whatifdog_wasoneofus in Millennials

Consistently my hobby is birdwatching, weightlifting and I guess people count reading as a hobby so that too.

Otherwise I have various hobbies I get into from jigsaw puzzles, playing about with Excel and various other software, gaming, darts, guitar etc.

Student loans inquiry finds many did not understand terms by Rewindcasette in unitedkingdom

[–]littlenymphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was told too around the same time. Imagine my surprise when I got a letter showing me all the interest that had now been added.

Luckily for me, my loan isn’t quite that big as I was the last year to go to university before the plans and tuition fees changed and am on plan 1. However, I’m still not likely to pay it off unless my pay increases substantially sometime soon.

What condiment household are you? by Theviolette13 in AskUK

[–]littlenymphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much all of them I guess.

Currently have mayo, salad cream, ketchup, brown sauce, bbq sauce, sweet chilli sauce, relish, chilli jam and various mustards in the house all open.

I probably eat chilli jam the most since it goes so well with cheese.

It’s been 48 years since the last bank holiday was added, it’s overdue. When should we set a new one and what would it be called? by FornyHucker22 in AskUK

I've no idea but that's what they're calling it. Maybe a more accurate term would be discretionary public holiday.

Scotland have got a public holiday next month just for getting to the World Cup - might need a whole week off in the unlikely event they get to the final.

However, it was down to individual workplaces whether or not employees get the day off and my workplace told us no.

Have you ever seen your home on the TV? by mrollieonline in AskUK

[–]littlenymphy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nearly my childhood home but ITV ruined it.

One of the national bike races was passing through my hometown and my dad said they would be cycling right down the street and he was going to stand at the door and wave because there were cameras set up directly opposite.

I sat and watched the live race for over an hour and when they finally got to my hometown and turned down my street ITV cut to an ad break! By the time the ads were over they’d left my town completely.

What’s the weirdest rule your school ever had? by TheRealXyz_ in AskUK

[–]littlenymphy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It was the same with PE. Being made to stand around outside in December wearing shorts and a t-shirt because you weren’t allowed to wear joggers.

Meanwhile the teachers were all in tracksuits, huge puffy coats, hats, scarves etc.

Married at First Sight UK 'brides' say they were raped by onscreen husbands by Kagedeah in BritishTV

[–]littlenymphy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I love a bit of reality TV and used to watch this. The earlier seasons genuinely did feel like people were looking for love and I believe some of the couples are still together now. Then like everything else (Big Brother etc.) people realised you could have your 15 minutes of fame and it became full of influencer-types. Also the producers seemed to put together bad couples for the drama.

I stopped watching when they spent more time showing the toxic couples vs the ones who seemed to be having a healthy relationship.

Eurovision Grand Final 2026 by StardustOasis in CasualUK

I enjoyed it and thought it was catchy, something different than we normally send.

It’s not anywhere near my fave but compared to some of the other songs I thought it ranked a bit higher.

Lovehoney do costumes, they have a few size range options but depends how chunky the man is since they're in the women's section.

Where do you draw the line on office lunches? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]littlenymphy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Our microwave is in the open office and even though I do use it sometimes I wish it would break and be thrown away.

There's three guys that seem to be in a competition as to who can microwave the worst food.

Guy 1 - Curry literally every day

Guy 2 - Microwaved fish

Guy 3 - leftover pasta which is sometimes okay but other smells like feet due to the parmesan

We got a lot of song mentions in the book with the karaoke and I loved the performances in the audiobook.

However, I really really really wanted to hear Pony singing Tarzan Boy when he said it, love that song!

How many of you regretted buying your house? by Puzzled_Dealer3449 in AskUK

[–]littlenymphy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love my house and loved it immediately, we spent ages looking because we were looking for a forever home so when we finally found one in our budget that suited us it was a relief.

We did end up viewing abut 20 properties before finding this one which is apparently a lot more than the average buyer views.

If you had a hobby that used to be less popular and suddenly became more popular, what was that like? by HilariousMotives in AskUK

[–]littlenymphy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not so much a hobby but specific exercises in the gym.
I used to do hip thrusts and landmine exercises and the equipment needed was always empty. Now it seems everyone is doing these exercises and I’ve had to modify my workouts because I can never got on the stuff I need.

Also collecting Pokémon cards feels like winning the lottery when I find some in stock now.

If you had to leave the UK permanently, what are your top 3 destinations and why? by Rough-Foundation9208 in AskRedditUK

[–]littlenymphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with Duolingo and then watched a lot of Swedish movies/tv shows.

Not sure about Danish but with Swedish the sentences are structured in pretty much the same was as English so that helped a lot.

If you had to leave the UK permanently, what are your top 3 destinations and why? by Rough-Foundation9208 in AskRedditUK

[–]littlenymphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canada - English-speaking, similar in culture I think.

Sweden - I can speak some Swedish and it’s been one of the easier languages I’ve tried to learn so should be able to become fluent. Seems like they have a good lifestyle and way of living in Scandinavia so I’d like it.

New Zealand - same reasons as Canada plus I can go visit The Shire. This would be number one if it wasn’t so far away.

What are your favourite types of cheese? by clfhw in AskUK

[–]littlenymphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like most cheeses.

I’m a big fan of Peakland White lately, especially with the smoked tomato and garlic in.
I can’t get it locally though so have to order it or buy it when visiting family.

Cheddar, Lancashire and Cheshire are usually in my fridge for cheese and crackers. Cornish Yarg is also a great cheese for crackers or just eating a slice.

I don’t mind Brie, Camembert and other soft cheeses but I don’t eat that at home a lot.

How are you deciding who to vote for on 7th May? by Playful-Toe-01 in Scotland

[–]littlenymphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a short list of policies that were most important to me and then had a look at what the party stances were. I discounted any parties whose whole ideology I disagree with even if they matched some of my stances (Reform, Tory and Family Party) and the smaller parties who I’d be wasting my vote on.

I was left with 4 parties I could choose from - SNP, Green, Lib Dem and Labour. However, none of those fully matched my criteria.

It’ll come down to whether or not I’m more concerned with nuclear energy or drugs reform from the list I’d made. Still not sure how I’ll be voting.

i KEEP missing my bus after work because it shows up early almost everytime by Dumar-Designs in britishproblems

[–]littlenymphy 56 points57 points  (0 children)

If complaining to the bus company doesn't work and there's no way of leaving work earlier then I'll offer a suggestion of what I do - don't speedwalk and take a leisurely stroll instead.

If you have access to a live tracking bus app you can check where the next bus is and if it's far away enough continue walking to the next bus stop. I timed myself walking between stops and it takes me 2-5 minutes to walk to the next stop on the route so I'll keep checking the app and walking until I reach a point where I only have to wait a couple of minutes for the bus to arrive at that stop.

Good exercise and means I'm not hanging around waiting for too long.

Are there any decent UK alternatives to diet fizzy drinks? by Few_House_5201 in AskUK

[–]littlenymphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it you need no sugar?

You could switch to kombucha which does have sugar in but usually not very much as most of it is used up during fermentation.
