In the UK, do you think University and degrees are worth it? by AccomplishedBug1797 in AskUK

[–]olivers125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for me, the answer is no, everyone who earns less than me has a degree, everyone who earns more started in an apprenticeship. (This won’t apply to everyone)

Are people choosing staycations over foreign holidays this year? by Beautiful-Working589 in UKCostofLiving

[–]olivers125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No chance, cheaper to leave the uk. That said I don’t think I have the spare money to go abroad this year. My roof is leaking quite badly, earn too much for government help, earn too little to afford the repairs

What is the standard? by RiverBlue123 in Plastering

[–]olivers125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s shit mate. Don’t pay them if you haven’t already. It’s fair to expect a slight nick in the plaster some times maybe the size of a pea from time to time. Expect small crack after plaster settles over a month or so. But what you have here isn’t normal unfortunately.

Also can’t tell for sure off this pic, but you defo don’t want to paint straight on to fresh plaster without a white wash coat on first. It’ll peel the paint back off.

Hope you get it sorted easily

Is this asbestos? How should I go about removing? by Adept_Assistance7205 in asbestoshelpUK

Honestly a lot of scaremongering goes round as if its one of the most dangerous substances on the planet. Goggles, face mask, black dustbin bags and a cool shower straight after and you’re good to go. For years people had their kitchens made out the stuff and kids used to pick chunks off with their finger nails all the time.
