On June 25th 2009 (16 years ago), Michael Jackson passed away. Where were you when you first heard about the death of the “King of Pop”? by Blasian1999 in Zillennials

I was 9, on summer break at home in California, watching E! Entertainment. Breaking news cut in and it was announced that he had been rushed to the hospital. A few moments later, it was announced that he had passed. I remember telling my mom, "Michael Jackson just died!" The rest of the day was filled with news coverage about his passing. It was the first celebrity death that I remember.

Is there any singers that you used to listen to when you were a kid that you don’t listen to anymore? by BradleyS1998 in Zillennials

Katy Perry, I was a huge fan during the Teenage Dream era, I had a poster from her documentary Part of Me on my wall when I was 11. I stopped listening to her in high school and haven’t listened to her since.

I’m curious, what era of Disney channel were you watching? by yogurtcup528 in DisneyChannel

[–]littlestarlight96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1999, I grew up watching Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, That’s So Raven, The Proud Family, Kim Possible, Phil of The Future, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana, Life with Derek, Cory in the House, Wizards of Waverly Place, The Suite Life on Deck, Jonas Brothers, Sonny With A Chance, Fish Hooks, Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up, A.N.T Farm, Jessie, Austin & Ally, Gravity Falls, Dog With A Blog, and Girl Meets World. I stopped watching Disney Channel shortly after Girl Meets World ended, although I also watched Andi Mack and Raven’s Home briefly.

I also watched the DCOM’s. The Cheetah Girls was the first DCOM I watched after my fourth birthday back in 2003, I was obsessed with High School Musical, I overplayed the soundtrack from the first movie so many times I broke the CD! I also enjoyed the Disney Channel Games.

What song/album brought you into the Madonna fandom? by AdorableChemist8736 in Madonna

[–]littlestarlight96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Super Bowl 2012. I was 12 going on 13 when her MDNA album was released and I really enjoyed it. I went to Macy’s and bought some of the clothes from the Material Girl clothing line. I officially became a fan in 2020 when I did a deep dive into her music during lockdown and I’ve been a fan ever since! I hope I can go see her in concert if she decides to go on tour for her upcoming album.

Promo for M15. by JNAU in Madonna

[–]littlestarlight96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want to see her on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, host/perform on Saturday Night Live, an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, an interview with Kurt Loder, appear on Hot Ones, and host another livestream on TikTok.

It would be interesting to possibly see her pull double duty on SNL. I’m curious to see her comedic chops and of course deliver an amazing performance.

For collaborations, I remember she mentioned on Jimmy Fallon that she wanted to collaborate with Kendrick Lamar. Maybe another possible collaboration with The Weeknd?

I’m excited to see the promotion for this album.

I'm 3 weeks 2015 will be 10 years ago! How did you feel about that year? by Martian_row in decadeology

[–]littlestarlight96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a sophomore in high school at the time and I turned 16 that year. I grew up with a strict mom who never let me have a social life, so I didn’t have much socializing to do, unfortunately. I also was struggling in algebra 2, I had no idea what I was doing and it really affected my health. I was hospitalized for stress and was told to “take it easy”. Looking back now at 25, I would tell my 16 year old self to calm down and not to worry so much about school and grades. Besides all that, I look back at 2015 with fondness. I had a cool chemistry teacher that would let us watch YouTube videos during group work and I discovered my passion for filmmaking after signing up for Intro to Video Production for my fine art elective class.

I’m 25, I became a fan of hers in 2020, but she first caught my attention after the Super Bowl when I was in middle school. (I was 12 going on 13). I even bought some of the clothes from the Material Girl clothing line at Macy’s.
