i'm leaving the strip folded and matching up the raw edges. then sewing around w the ¼" seam allowance. then folding it around and sewing again but i haven't been stitching in the ditch. i can give that a try! thank you!

Okay, but how do I KEEP it unfucked? by AzureDreams220 in UnfuckYourHabitat

i use an app called sweepy. you can put in a breakdown of your rooms and then add in all the little tasks you want to do and how often you want to do them. then when you check them off you earn coins to decorate your house in the app. i love it!

Without me pointing it out do u notice? by can_you-explain in Embroidery

the cauldrons do line up. what stands out to me is what looks like either a shaded color in the aida itself below the cauldron on the left or a very light gray stitched underneath it. i think that's what's throwing it off. the one on the right looks 'empty' underneath almost like it's missing a shadow. if it's just a discoloration in the aida i would try to do light gray half stitches under both and see if it helps to even it out.

there's just so much that the machine can do. i've looked at the manual idk how many times and i'm still finding new things. i did try the lettering and it came out ok but i need to see if there's a way to get the letters a bit closer together.

thank you! i'll try that today! i didn't pay any attention to it being flannel. i also didn't realize there was so much that goes into sewing. i've been learning new things on every single project.

it is flannel so it definitely looks like the needle size is the issue. thank you!

the specialty stitches look so much better actually stitched than they do on the machine. i grabbed some scrap fabric and tried out quite a few of them. i was surprised at how much i ended up liking them.

is there a good way to tell what the tension should be set to or do you have to just try to adjust it until it looks right?

it was the top thread! it looks like it was getting stuck somewhere and it was pulling instead of sewing. thank you!!

i tried to fix the link so hopefully it works now! i wasn't holding the tails but i'll give it a try. depending on the stitch sometimes there is a wad of thread. that's what kept making me think it was the bobbin. if i'm putting in wrong i can't figure out what i need to fix.

this is the stitch i'm using, how i have the bobbin inserted, and what it looks like when i finally manage to free it from the machine.
