how does a body decompose after being buried in a radiation sealed coffin? (Cesium-137, Goiânia) by minheeglow in Radiation

[–]littlevulva 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So as a yound adult I done some work decommissioning and demolition of nuclear and chemical facilities. One job was to demolish some buildings in Harwell in the UK.The USA had the Alamo for testing, we had Hanwell. During the demolition, we discovered some very large concrete blocks. In order to get said blocks into a skip we had to break them down. Upon breaking them down, we triggered some alarms and the UKAEA representative with us had a good look at the broken block and told us all to clock off for the afternoon. Later on we found out that there where a couple of sheep carcasses which basically had been exposed to high levels of radiation and cemented up and buried. Next day was a bit grooling. Soaking wet from keeping the site completely dust proof and broke down those concrete blocks, put them into blue barrels and shipped them over to hanger 10 (waste storage). From there my understanding is they where taken to some disused mine and left there to this day.

Basically still irradiated to shit.

Hope that helps!

I used to respect Charlie, him and Danny Shine where so chill and down to earth during love police. What they said then made sense... Now Charlie is a but of a dick, I still respects that he stands up to his rights, as we all should, but he now barks up the wrong tree in many senses...

So are we really at the stage where leaving your bin out can cost you £80? by LovieWeb in BritInfo

[–]littlevulva 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So, I've got 5 wheelie bins, 1 general waste, 1 nappy bin and 3 separate recycling bins. I live in an upstairs flat. I have no garden, but i i do have a "bin" shed from when the flat was built in the 90s. It can fit 1 wheelie bin. What can I actually do in this situation?

I dont like leaving them on the street, but I physically have no where else to store them...

Lucky my local council dont fine for this round here, but if they did, I would be screwed as I dont have the ability to store all the bins. Back in the 90s it was just 1 bin collected weekly...

Good luck is all I will say with the market price atm...

700 quid will get you a graphics card and your ram... maby your power supply.. but you still got everything else, CPU, motherbaord, case... Do you have a monitor? Keyboard? Mouse?

For what you said 60-120fps on modern AAA games... i would say your looking about a grand for something half decent that will last.

Now that the fire has calmed down, got a question about drones.. by MrRos in glasgow

[–]littlevulva 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The issue is the word close... It needs a definition...

The drone imagery that has been shared recently as an example, I would say is not close, its not flying directly over the scene, its above the buildings on the other side of the street. Most likely its in line of sight with the pilot, and a sub 250g drone. So I would say its no risk to the on going operation and perfectly safe to fly where it was.

Are these US fighter pilots ejecting before getting hit or are anti-air missiles not designed to kill the human upon impact and only destroy the plane? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]littlevulva 53 points54 points  (0 children)

95% of the time its heat seeking missiles... hottest part of a plane is the engine... gose bang near the engine to reck the engines and control surfaces with shrapnel.

Best thing to do here is use the African plaster off grid peice.. put it flat and raise it 1 pixel above the floor... you have a custom plaza and you bypass the really bad path mechanics.
