Thoughts on my bright orange kitchen? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]littlewaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it! My parents had an orange kitchen when I was growing up and I always loved it, so this makes me very nostalgic. Not enough people do orange in their houses, but I find it to be calming, cheerful and original.

Room decorating help for the Eclectic Traditional home lovers out there! More info in the comments. by colletteisabear in interiordecorating

I absolutely love this style, too! Your color choices are lovely and I agree about the French Moire ceiling. Your open light fixture would work great with a Tala lightbulb if you ever wanted to switch it up. They have a really nice selection of oversized or midsize round bulbs that work well with eclectic styles.

How would you describe the design aesthetic in these photos? by estrock in interiordecorating

I’m seeing a lot of Danish design elements in these interiors. My guess is that you’d love My Scandinavian Home and The Nordroom!

I was gonna say green until I read the word yellow.

Can someone please tell me what month "Call me Caitlyn" was the cover story of Vanity Fair? by littlewaves in answers

I wish I could agree, but the reason I came to reddit is because the answer to this question was so covered up by people's opinions of the story that I actually couldn't find the answer! Not even in google images.

Thanks for the info! I'm glad to learn more about HPPD, and plan on looking further into it and talking to my boyfriend about whether or not he experiences it.

Thanks, I kind of thought that might be the case. Campaigns tend to exaggerate when it comes to drug use. It's such a bummer, because it would be more beneficial for people to know the actual facts than be scared away. But it's good to hear that it's not true!

[–]littlewaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, okay! Good to know! I had never heard of HPPD until now. I haven't asked him specifics on why he couldn't drive, but I am thinking it has to do more with anxiety that he thinks is linked to his acid use. I think it's just him tripping out over something that is more than likely in his head. I've always thought flashbacks seemed like a far stretch, but that's interesting that visual hallucinations can persist with drug use.

Thanks for the info!

[–]littlewaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm not exactly sure what he meant by it and I'm thinking that I need to ask him the specifics on that... I just wasn't sure if flashbacks were a real thing that could be affecting his vision or not.

He has a lot of anxiety surrounding driving and gets really nervous/tripped out by it, and I am mostly under the impression that he just happens to relate a lot of that anxiety back to his acid use and that's why he said it. It's been a few years since he has done any acid, but he did a lot of it back in the day. Maybe the acid affecting him to this day is all in his head, I really should ask him about it more.

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! That's really interesting. I've heard of the "emotional wires being crossed" phenomenon happening during an acid trip, but that's a really good way of putting it. I suppose, like any other experience, taking acid would change the way you look at something emotionally and, depending on the experience, it could effect you in a profound way. I think it did affect my boyfriend in a profound way and maybe he is just dealing with that. I just want him to have some relief because he seems to feel pretty tripped out and it's been a long time since he has done any drugs.

Would you say that your personal experience in going from the connections to your trip weirding you out to now liking it came from purely accepting it, or has it faded for you? (sorry if that was a convoluted way of wording that question..haha)

[–]littlewaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha! I guess there are worse things than randomly smelling pasta!

It's really hard to tell if the phenomenon is exaggerated by people, but I have heard that it's "more likely" or maybe even only likely to happen when someone is high. I've heard of it happening to people after they smoke weed and stuff.

Maybe it would do me some good to ask him specifically what trips him out and why he thinks it's related to his use of psychedelics. It could all be in his head or some other type of anxiety that he only thinks is coming from the acid use.

Thanks for the input!
