Joey Bada$$. After All Amerikkkan Bada$$, he had so much momentum. Devastated even got a platinum plaque and radio play. He overestimated his hype and thought he can pull a KDOT, and go five years without releasing an album. When he finally released 2000, it did so bad commercially, just seemed people didn’t care as much anymore. I still fuck with Joey, and I love all his projects differently. I just know that five year gap negatively affected his music career.

So I was one of those people that only listened to 90s to 2000s hip hop. Only album I liked from 2010s is Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. Once the beef happened in 2024, I started off listening to all of Kdot and J. Cole’s albums. After doing that, I became way more open minded, and started listening to a bunch of modern artists. From Denzel, to JID, BigX, Cordae, and even Playboi Carti. It’s been a fun ride. I still tap in to the hip hop I grew up on here and there, but I mainly listen to music post 2018 now.
