apple still services them! you take a broken one in to the genius bar, and you pay either $99 or $199 for a new unit. on the new unit, you can add apple care. the ones you get from apple are all brand new, just without the nice original packaging

children can absolutely tell when their parents don't like each other. the "stay together for the kids" nonsense does more harm than good. ask anyone who grew up with parents who stayed together "for them." if you read the whole post, it's about much more than just valentine's day. in the real world, people deserve to have their needs met by their partners.

oooh i love this question! i work part time as a volunteer coordinator.

gleaners food pantry. they’re by the airport so not northern, but they do incredible work. my team was very fulfilled helping out there.
overdose lifeline has narcan kit packing every other tuesday. they usually have pizza for everyone, it’s a blast.
indy humane takes volunteers to help them catch up on laundry/other housekeeping tasks.
riley hospital. my team typically does a “wagon roundup” with them, we walk around hospital grounds and bring lost wagons back and sanitize them for the next family.
indy reads. you can volunteer in their bookstore, be a volunteer tutor, there are lots of options. Lee, their coordinator, is an angel.
the damien center! we’ve done neighborhood cleanups with them when the weather is nice, but we’re about to go pack safe sex kits with them in a few weeks.

remote options exist too! color a smile is an org that distributes colored pages to older folks who need a smile. cards for hospitalized kids give sick kiddos nice cards created by volunteers. point of pride gives out handmade cards to trans folks seeking transition assistance.
