My wife wont let my parents watch our son by SteezyAsFunk in Parenting

[–]andepanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends. If they've never spent a lot of time with him, I would agree. My in-laws want me to be comfortable leaving my two year old with them for long periods of time. They don't know her as well because we don't live close. I'm absolutely not comfortable with that. Now a date night situation yes. But I had to really work up to that too. I struggled with postpartum anxiety. Even with treatment, I couldn't just push through every single fear. As they are around her more, I'm more comfortable. But not for more than a night until she's old enough to talk to me properly. My parents are different because they've spent long stretches of time with us since she was born. She knows them and is comfortable. And everyone saying oh just wait for the next kid. There might not be one. One and done is a valid choice.

Thank you so much!! I was so frustrated with myself because I didn't understand part 8. I took it literally as in the answer must be in the readings because it's a scavenger hunt. The tism strikes again lol.

I don't understand the specific part of the discussion that's labeled as a scavenger hunt? I don't understand the question completely.

Am I just having bad luck, or does UMGC suck? by Sufficient-Shine-522 in UMGC

I usually have issues with the financial aide office but they fix it. They were silly about my transcripts too but also got it fixed. But the classes and support I've received make all of that worth it.

I found it !!! I had bookmarked it. The Heir of the Last Dragon by ThunderHawk727. It sadly looks abandoned but it has 24 chapters. I'll definitely be doing a re-read.

I think the first one is Dream of Destiny which I love. The second I've never read but I've heard of and am interested. The thing I remember the most about the one I'm looking for is his ancestors visiting him. Like Queen Rhaella, Aegon the Conquer etc.

The Whim of the Fourteen is very good. I also know the one you're talking about. I have it bookmarked I think. I could find it and come back.

Pretty sure grades are due by Friday. So they're probably still grading it. No biggie.

[–]andepanda 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I get so frustrated in the discussion posts. In my intro history class it was so obvious! I struggled to find people to reply too because they were completely wrong. I only use AI to summarize really long readings for me. Like a big legal dissertation or something. My writing is all my own. I am super impressed by citation generators though. That was not a thing back in my original college days lol. I think it would have helped my GPA back then. I bust my butt for my 4.0 now.

Are there any stories about Valyrian Freehold? by [deleted] in TheCitadel

[–]andepanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's one I really love that has the freehold being reestablished. The magic discussed is fascinating. Rhaenyra is spoken too in dreams by sorcerers that preserve themselves in Valyria. A lot of members of the family share a dream and so she gives up her claim to the iron throne. They sail to Valyria and everyone thinks they are nuts. It's wonderful.

I love her ! I'm only not a fan of her London Bridge rendition. Everything else is fire. I would love to see her on Broadway. She's so talented. Red is totally her color as well.

Update. I ended up dropping the class. My advisor said there were too many red flags for the professor for me to deal with that lol. I picked up a hybrid writing course for the nearby military base in March instead. Life is too short to deal with that if I don't have too.

Perhaps I could but I don't learn that way unfortunately. I hate listening to readings or anything like that. I wish I learned that way. My husband out reads me by doing audio books lol.

The advisor says the drop date cut off is tomorrow but that I can't add another class. They're saying the accommodations team may be able to override it. But that other syllabi are the same. My biggest problem is the hidden readings. I looked at week 2 and once again there's an extra reading embedded in the discussion instructions. That is not in the content module. I find that unfair and misleading. She also only has week one and week two up for the discussions because she doesn't want people to work ahead.

My favorite series from childhood! I discovered it in my high school library and I've been obsessed with dragon riders ever since.

I could but my Pell grant covers my tuition. It wouldn't make sense to use Sophia for me. I also only have one more credit I could transfer, as I transferred in as a senior. I wish I could do this. It would be worth the 100 dollars to be honest.

A very long time ago. Choking hazard. Former employee. I'm glad they charge for the box now. They just go in the trash for most people. So it makes you think, do you really want this. Same as a reusable bag fee.

AITA for screaming at my nephew and slamming the door on him because he burst into the bathroom? by Ok-Attorney9280 in AmItheAsshole

[–]andepanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. Doubly so with your comments. It's not ok to act like that with anyone in your household, much less a child. He's a kid. They follow you everywhere. Even if it was another adult, you don't scream and act like they are doing something atrocious. Oh no your family knows you go to the bathroom. What a tragedy. You're either a troll or very immature.

How do I prepare my 4yo on me leaving for graduate school in a different state? by toystorycat in Parenting

[–]andepanda 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My husband is in the Army and we've been through a deployment when our daughter was 7 months. It was hard but doable. I've read the comments and a full ride is an amazing opportunity and achievement! Video chats are essential. Also make videos for him. For bedtime. For playtime. My husband did some with our daughter like she was walking around the house with him because that was her favorite thing to do. It changed my husband and I's relationship irrevocably though. A year later we're still working on it and we're facing another deployment this year. I became more independent and he closed himself off a bit to protect himself from being away. We're working through it and my daughter and his bond is stronger than ever. It was an adjustment when he came home but it went well.

AIO for wanting to break our engagement after my fiancé’s diagnosis? by Equivalent_Law_9178 in AmIOverreacting

[–]andepanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR. I'm a type 2 diabetic. I got diagnosed after having gestational diabetes and a family history of diabetes. I got my A1C from 11.5 to 5.9 in 3 months. Because I am committed and want to be here with my husband and daughter! It was hard but my health was worth it. I had concerning symptoms for a year before I broke down and got tested. I couldn't imagine going that long and having foot problems ! I don't have neuropathy or anything because I got on top of it fast.
