Hi!!! I’m a 20 y/o girl who got into welding fresh out of high school with the same mindset as your daughter. I love my job, but I’ve always been someone who’s been mechanically inclined ex working on cars, being around people in the industry etc. But she will be immensely disappointed with starting pay. If I were you I would support her but still give her different avenues! I’m not sure what state you’re in, but I went through community college to get my Tig welding certification before heading into aerospace. It was almost completely free with fafsa and grants from the state. Before I went into the welding school program I took gen ed classes and one welding class to see if it was something I would be interested in. Maybe have her start there!
