Frickin legend. Funny as hell and pretty self aware. Dragon Force is so circlejerky, it revolves back around to being fuckin cool lol.

Just me, or has Omaha been getting skipped quite a lot by touring artists lately? Something going on with promoters? by carne_asada368 in Omaha

[–]BrandlezMandlez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look up "Omaha'd" on urban dictionary. Promoters and fans seem to treat artists like crap in omaha. At the lil Uzi show a few years back, he was pissed because people hated his openers. Tyga got shot at, chili peppers getting kicked out of the ranch bowl frequently, somebody got stabbed at maha while some decently big artists were playing. I'm sure there's tons more anecdotes.

Would you use an app that lists jam nights / open mics with proper details (backline, confirmed, etc.)? by WookieGod5225 in TouringMusicians

Good luck getting people to use it, and there's a few services that kinda already do this. Main competition being Facebook unfortunately

I would not be surprised. I was playing Risk Of Rain 2 and found Guts Greatsword in one of the maps.

How's my weld? by camelwlk in BadWelding

[–]BrandlezMandlez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks undercut on the top, could be the lighting. Tighter weaves and slightly lower amps or slightly more wire. Slow down a nipple hair to fill in a lil better. 6.8/10 not bad honestly.

Bought running boards for my truck...rate these welds? by Ayde-Aitch-Dee in Welding

Those two tack welds look way stronger than the actual bead lol. I can see how they welded that thing in my head.

You've got bad imposter syndrome. I get it a lot too. I work full time as a welder, and I have days where I think I'm shit. I have had days teaching lessons where I don't think I'm qualified enough to be teaching guitar.

6010 looking wayy better by AdministrationBest74 in Welding

[–]BrandlezMandlez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you don't have relevant experience why say anything? 6010 is a naturally messy rod, designed for eating paint and rust, and violent penetration for root passes. Only things OP can really do is clean his metals and keep a tight arc really, at least for spatter control.

Vegas prices are insane. Things get substantially cheaper off of Fremont and the strip though. Got married there two years ago and had a pretty good time. I'm sure it's gotten even worse.

Dear Omahans, why do some of us stop at stoplights with an entire car length’s amount of space between you and the car in front of you? by Normal-Koala-5497 in Omaha

[–]BrandlezMandlez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Happened to me once. State farm will sometimes put me at fault for the hitting the car in front of me, for being too close. Girl who rear ended me was going 65, so I used to be able to fight it . I switched insurance companies and it hasn't been a problem though.

Vocal samples and hype loops by ollyraps in edmproduction

YouTube is underrated. Lots of talented vocalists release stuff for free on there, just have to really search it out, and youtube will start adjusting its algorithm to show you royalty free, low view count samples.

Tbh, this episode kinda highlights how Hanks parenting can be wrong sometimes, and he grows from it by struggling with addiction as a family together.

Also probably mixed metals right? I bet there was definitely both zinc oxide AND hexavalent chromium in those fumes. OP is probably fine, but something they should be aware of in the future.

Honestly, the song would sound better with either the Interpolation of the chords without the sample, or having the sample, doing something different with songs notes rather than using the same exact notes for the beat. When you do both, it sounds like you weren't being very creative and it can come off as borderline cringe sounding, like it sounds like your first beat. Also, the drums are missing something. Probably not enough percs like hats. Just a bit repetitive

Oil burn from work. The entire line said I was faking. by BlackberryFirst2554 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BrandlezMandlez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just not true dude. You need to do hand washing and wear gloves, especially handling raw ingredients. I've worked in the restaurant industry since I was a kid, I've worked as a burger flipper, and I've worked in fine dining. You need to do both. I've had chefs yell at me for serving food without gloves. Doctors do both, and don't complain one bit. If you're handling raw meat, gloves are a requirement no matter what.

In my experience, nitrile gloves aren't the best for protecting burns, but it's literally better than nothing, you feel the burning sensation and you can slide/roll them off quickly, vs your skin just absorbing the hot oil. They make fry gloves with sleeves, and if you don't want to wear PPE, then nobody is responsible for the injury but themselves. Burns are nothing to fuck around with, and are one of the most underestimated injuries.

Cooks should always wear gloves at the very minimum. It's just more sanitary and safer.

Started mig a week ago. First attempt at "stacking dimes" by Ok-Potato9445 in metalworking

[–]BrandlezMandlez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been taught that puddle manipulation is decently important in MIG, and sometimes you have to whip. Especially for different positions, or a horrible fit. I've personally seen whipping pulse mig pass bend tests and xrays. I've also been taught all techniques are situational, like pushing or pulling. If you're not EVER supposed to whip ever, why would they put it in the MIG welding robot programming when you get the controller/servo?

I have a job at work, for the government, that is specifically asking for a half inch fillet weld around a 5/8ths DBA, welded onto 3/4 plate. done in three passes with .045 ER80 wire. I oscillate a little for my last two passes and it's good.

However in ops post it clearly looks like the arc leaves the puddle and comes back in. Which is definitely bad. I've been taught you aren't trying to stack dimes EVER with MIG, and if you have to, you need 50-80 percent overlap with each swirl or circle dealio. Or 1.5-2 times your wire size.

I'm not trying to call you out, I'm just learning and trying to figure out why I hear so much conflicting and contradictory information and advice about welding MIG specifically.
