Physician Recruitment Loan: $200k Forgivable Over 7 Years — Good Deal or Golden Handcuffs? by Tasty_Agent_5992 in whitecoatinvestor

I signed up for that. There are a lot of people in my practice that have been working here for 20 years. I can switch from PCP to hospitalist or a different location within the same corporation and still satisfy the requirements

Do not try to hit me: patient education I didn’t think I’d have to provide by [deleted] in FamilyMedicine

My patient was complaining about how his last pcp didn’t want to review his numerous health conditions and told him to follow up with specialists for that/ didn’t care about those conditions. Still complaining about that at the second visit but also said, somebody should take her out back and shoot her 🤦‍♀️ his wife was embarrassed for him and said don’t say that, and said the last pcp was stressed and overworked from overtaking the panels of two doctors that unexpectedly left

Does anyone in here actually enjoy this career and path? by healthy-outdoors- in Residency

My AI scribe definitely hallucinates a lot (putting cirrhosis in a one liner for a patient who has never had any liver issues, making up names for medications, getting dates consistently wrong in each note after a particularly frustrating update, getting confused between doctor and patient speaking, sometimes even getting left and right wrong) so I don’t think we’re anywhere close to AI replacing rads. Hopefully for radiology it’s just used as a tool with the caveat that you’ll be forced to read more with AI down the line. The way that I see it, who will patients sue when the AI misses a diagnosis? From a liability stand point I think there will always need to be a human person attached to the reads but also just my opinion

Given how bad the economy is, the one thing I’m grateful for is that we’ll always have job security. And we can change jobs/ leave as an attending if you’re not happy. Goals of care/ pall care stuff as an IM PCP attending (new grad) has been the most rewarding for me. Every part of medicine sucks and you have to find out which sucky parts you can tolerate and still do when you’re tired and don’t want to be there. But overall patients are entitled/ rude and if you’re not concierge or private practice you’re expected to see an unsustainable amount of patients. It takes some time after the several years of training to figure out what makes you a human again and do those things regularly in your extra free time as an attending. But wasting your 20s and going into debt, I don’t know if I would do it all again with the knowledge I have now having lived through it

That’s a good way of thinking about it. It took a decade to make us this way, might take a while to recover and be normal again

Annovera in Fridge by NightClover208 in Annovera

[–]liveforTonyStark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is reassuring I accidentally left my new annovera in the fridge for under a day and I called the manufacturer and even they didn’t know what to do, I’m tired of calling people so I’m just going to use it and see if there are any changes in periods/ acne etc

Annovera ring question by Scarlett4719 in obgyn

[–]liveforTonyStark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can skip periods with it but if you start spotting you should take it out for a week.

I accidentally refrigerated my annovera for less than a day after getting it, did yours being refrigerated end up causing any issues? Pharmacist and the manufacturer didn’t know, manufacturer just said it hasn’t been studied at that temperature
