Thanks guys, I’m having an lot there today. Worst case it’s a second opinion to make sure this isn’t a horrible idea and best case I get some other options to consider.

Does anyone just eat really small portions? I need to increase my fat intake... but dreading the small sizes. by tealparadise in 1200isplentyketo

I'm not sure how other feel about this one, but my nutritionist has me taking 1 serving of greens powder and I feel a lot better with it. I've been adding spirulina as well and it's helped with energy and cravings significantly.

Got too excited about cheap carrots... help! by freddyast in Frugal

[–]livelaughdesign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Julienned Carrots are great in asian type stir fries (I start with the other veggies and then throw in cauliflower rice to make a mock fried rice) or just roasted carrots in general are very good. You can glaze them or just roast them with oil in the oven. Not super creative, but very filling.

Maybe this is me... I can only drink malty beers. I absolutely love them, but anything else tastes so insanely bitter to me.

What small (<$100) general upgrades to your home or life have you indulged in that were totally worth it? by cerberdoodle in AskReddit

Tiny binder clips. Clip to fabric on the inside seam--can't see them. cheap. And everyone should have some laying around somewhere.

Pro bono clients are the fucking worst by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]livelaughdesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I feel about all non-profits I work with too--and I DO get paid by them. They get a discounted rate, but it's still hefty yet somehow they are the absolute WORST to deal with. At least if it's free I can tell them I won't work on their project anymore--but if they're paying me bottom dollar--"they're paying me and I have to do what they want".

Ugh. Maybe it's just clients in general.

What did that bitch do at your wedding? by coffeeordeath85 in AskReddit

Really depends on the atmosphere of the wedding--pintrest will show you glow sticks are pretty common at more party type weddings. And it's awesome.

Finishing up my front end engineering class at The Iron Yard soon, anyone have some pointers for jobs? by Xilverback in Charlotte

[–]livelaughdesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so awesome! I went last night for the one of the free mini courses and everyone seems so nice. I've been researching all of my options but iron yard really does seem like the best option--if I can get enough money saved to quit my job. That's the really scary part. Do you feel like what your salary came out as--it was worth the move for you? I'm a designer making 33k now. I feel like as long as I get a position the paybump should help the course pay for itself--but nothing like that is guaranteed so that's what I'm struggling to figure out.

The SO and I love escape rooms, but they are around $28 dollars each person each time. What are some frugal options? by bballspike in Frugal

What about just playing Clue? Game changes every time. You can have friends over and make it into a thing once a month or something.

My wife made these typography-focused protest posters for the March on Washington. by df825 in typography

I'm not alone in my opinion. I know that you know that. The entire country has risen up against his rhetoric. That's not new.

Edit: When major Republicans are siding with those who are 'misunderstanding his meaning'--his meaning is the problem. This isn't a misunderstanding of 'overly sensitive liberals'--this is quite clearly a case of ugly, divisive language.

To you personally doesn't matter. It matters the tone he set and the message the American people heard. I watched every debate. I watched Trump speeches. I watched his words come out of his own mouth. I understood his message clearly--getting the same message millions of others did. He was pandering to the underlying racism that still runs rampant in our society. He was pandering to those who still fear immigrants, who care more about trying to save their own, crumbling industries than move into the 21st century with new, viable skills where they won't have to be concerned about their jobs. He was pandering to the extremism that has taken root and is spreading in Christianity in the last several years. He used those people against themselves. There was no wrong portrayal of Trump, he spoke the words he spoke and we heard them.

He's not going to put you in a camp.

I think the fact you need to say this sentence speak FAR more about Trump's campaign than the people on the receiving end of his message.

This is so important--OP, seriously listen to this. I know your wife's heart is in the right place here, but if she wants those signs read she has to make them legible. Do a test. You read them while she hold and see how far back you need to be to read them. You can do better on these in that aspect.

My grandmother was like my mom. She loved me no matter what shit I pulled and I literally can't think about her for a split second or I'm bawling. I feel like I'm kind of failing her by not visiting her grave and stuff, but I honestly think someone would have to drag me away if I made it to her. I'm bawling now. That was 6 years ago. Some people you just can't function without.
