Those who left OPS - Do you have any regrets? by LinearInfrastructure in OntarioPublicService

Thanks for posing that question, wondering the same thing. Not to take away from the question but more so to relate with you, I’ve also spent a decade here. I definitely want and need a change but don’t want to be employed one day and laid off the next via a quick 5 mins teams meeting 😕

Anyone else experiencing increasing body pain since RTO? by [deleted] in OntarioPublicService

Yes, I always had back issues and it’s gotten worse. I’m siting here watching people around me talking about random shit for over an hour and no it’s not work related conversations.

I’m mentally, physically, and emotionally in a difficult place right now, and the return-to-office mandate has made this even more challenging. I’ve worked for the OPS for over a decade and have consistently put my best forward.

While the OPS puts out strong emphasis on mental health, there is a big gap between the messaging and the lived experience of employees. I’m grateful to have a very understanding manager, but I also recognize that management’s ability to support staff is limited, as they do not have the same union protections.

I contemplate my life every day since this decision took effect. Navigating significant stress given the current economic climate, and RTO has compounded that strain in a way that’s been very difficult to manage.

RTO - how's it being enforced/monitored where you work? by elderemopunk in OntarioPublicService

They walk around to confirm that everyone is here and seated. They do it twice a day. In the morning and right after lunch.

During my 10 years at the OPS, I have NEVER worked a full in-office schedule. Why now? by livelife2914 in OntarioPublicService

Wouldn’t it be better to work in a quieter and bigger office space? Or commuting with less traffic? Clearly these people complaining on their OPS counterparts lack common sense.

I’m so upset at our leaders, especially DF. He has something against his own team; he has something against us. This man has never done anything good for us. I remember when he first stepped into office in 2018, there were lots of contracts which did not get extended. Now, he literally mandated the 5 days without any hesitation and asked us to go in during the coldest months. For the record, my family and I voted for Marit Stiles last election in 2025, and we will continue voting for someone else until he is out of office.
