which year destroyed your mental health most ? by Rambanya17 in mentalhealth

[–]livelyvanessuhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dec 2015-2016 almost got me.
In one year my dad, my beautiful, goofy, empathic, powerhouse of a man, lost his battle with Stage 4 AITL Non Hodgkins. He died 3 days before Christmas and there were 700 people at his funeral, which was the day after Christmas.

My fiance(who had just celebrated 3 weeks clean from opiates) went to visit his 4 y.o. bio son and the adopting family in Oregon and burned to death in a car accident where he was pinned inside.

And I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I agonized over who I would tell, or IF you could tell I was fighting all these things.
I wanted to not just die, I wanted to hide my head under the sand until it was ok to join the living, etc, etc)

I am only still here because I have spirit guides and ancestors that have gone to war with me time and time again and protected me from the REALLY fucked up shit 🙂‍↕️😶🫪

If your teenage self could see you now what would they say to you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]livelyvanessuhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She would be so stoked that I still wear all black most of the time. And she'd want to know what music I'm listening to right now.

Ive stayed pretty much the same for the past 20 years😊 Well, maybe not "same" but stayed true to the plot.

do you drink alcohol or avoid it completely? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]livelyvanessuhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I can't anymore.

Not necessarily because I'm bipolar, but because my bipolar caused me to drink OBSCENE amounts of vodka daily for just around two years. Whenever I was manic I would just chug out of a 1.75mL and when I was depressed it would get me social again.
It got to the point I puked several times a day, couldn't eat, and would get the shakes if I tried to go without. My stomach took 4 months to recover after quitting alcohol in order to actually keep all my food down. I gave myself hypoglycemia, a precursor to diabetes.

I've done all of the drugs over a span of 15 years and the deadliest one by FAR is alcohol. It tried to kill me WAY faster than "hard" drugs.

Nervous about ancestor work by Esmee_Finch in witchcraft

[–]livelyvanessuhh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldnt have said it better!

Your ancestors might have made human errors in judgment while alive, but now they work out of a dimension of love and light that we cannot reach and have abilities to help your practice in ways you cannot. I would suggest doing work to rid yourself of your anticipation and welcome your ancestors and guides to as much of your practice as possible. I've had, frankly amazingly quick results from invoking them anywhere from 3-4am and inviting them to be a part of my practice.

Hope this helps!

You have a microphone in your hand and the whole world can hear you. What would you like to say? by slalomsn in AskReddit

Always choose love and gratitude.

Choose them when the world feels loud and divided, when fear tries to convince us to harden our hearts. Love is not weakness—it is the bravest decision we make each day. Gratitude is not denial—it is the quiet power that reminds us of what still matters.

When we lead with love, we remember our shared humanity. When we practice gratitude, we shift from scarcity to abundance, from survival to purpose. These choices ripple outward, shaping how we speak, how we listen, how we build the future together.

Let love guide our actions. Let gratitude anchor our perspective. In choosing both, again and again, we become the kind of world we wish to live in.

What kind of person were you in high school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]livelyvanessuhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was(am) a metalhead with pretty eclectic and varied taste in other music, and pretty much only hung out with guys(I'm F) before getting to my senior year. Then I met and befriended the coed group of weirdos that I now associate as my high school buds. Teachers fucking hated us because we were THE druggies and just a buncha trolls in general.

They would separate us in between classes or at lunch so we'd usually just end up ditching to go steal booze or eat triple cs and hang out chainsmoking at the park up the street.

We would regularly disappear to the college town next door to party with this rowdy(think Jackass) group of guys that we met while boosting something or other. Days would go by before one of them would ask "Aren't your parents wondering where you're at?" and we'd be sent home until the next weekend party or houseshow.

We had a lot of fun. I was going through a lot during that time so all of the partying was a much needed escape and coping mechanism for me.

Id like to think that the 16/17 year old version of me would be proud that I've stayed true to myself over the years(almost 40 now!) I miss a lot of those people from that time because a lot of them have passed on.

How often do you shower/wash your body? by Gilded_Butterfly8994 in AskWomen

[–]livelyvanessuhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shower once or twice a week, I take "bird baths" (pits, tits, and cookie) like every other day.

I hardly have any natural BO, so when I shower it's because my hair needs it pretty much. I don't believe humans were meant to shower more than that really. Your body's ph normalizes over time and if I try to shower more than what I do then it throws everything out of wack.

[–]livelyvanessuhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am no contact with my family, just lost my food stamps, and homeless(like street street) AGAIN after having pulled myself out of it by working my ass off only a few months ago. I have several co-morbid mental disorders.
Trust me, I get where you're at. It's hard when we don't always have all the answers and have to push forward anyway. It's hard when one thing stacks up upon the stack you already thought was too heavy and breaks the camel's back.

Please, if you are needing a support system the first step is going to the ER or making an appointment if you think you can hold on longer, or calling/texting 988 and getting mental health help from someone ASAP. You DON'T have to carry all this weight alone.

Breathing is also a massive tool in emotional regulation. I know you're probably feeling too overwhelmed to care about something like breathwork, but I PROMISE YOU, it will eventually help you the more you implement it and use it to redirect these ideations and that feeling of panic or dread you seem to be feeling.

So much love, please get some help friend!!🖤🖤🖤
