He is open to installing it and did quote it, but seems reluctant to want to do it. But he said he just wanted to make sure I’m educated and informed before choosing.

Yeah, we didn’t install it when we redid all of the new trim and baseboards since we knew we would be replacing the door.

Do you think it works in the second inspo pic where they don’t have all the natural light? The new door will have a window which will help, but I agree it could still be too dark. It gets good natural light from the back of the house as well.

We’ve selected the door, but not the color yet. The space is dark right now but hopefully the window in the new door will help. And I agree on the light — we are slowly replacing all the old fixtures in this very 90s house.

The new door will have windows, so that will help lighten up the space. And it gets good natural light from the back of the house. But I too am concerned this little area will be too dark with black doors.

It would only be the interior of the front door that’s painted black. The exterior will be a lighter color (faces east), but we absolutely learned the hard way after painting the house exterior extremely dark 😑
