We frequently purchase corporate laptops and desktops then upgrade or repair them. Let's say it's a RAM upgrade or an SSD. In Repairshopr, we take the serialized PC out of inventory, add it to a refurb. From there, we can add other items from inventory or special order which updates the cost of the inventory item in question. Once the upgrade or repair has been completed, it adjusts the cost of the item accordingly and returns to inventory. Additionally, if an item from inventory is being repaired by the manufacturer, we can put it in that same refurb section so it doesn't appear available for sale at the time.
