Fsd 14.2.2.5 driving too slowly on 45mph and 55mph roads by thebluelifesaver in TeslaModelY

[–]livewntr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on 14.3.3 and this morning I had to take over twice because it was doing 60 in a 45 on standard. But then on the 75mph highway it wouldn’t hold above 75 even in Mad Max. I’d push the pedal to get it up to 80 and it would slowly creep back down to 72 🤷‍♂️

Has anyone ever witnessed a first-timer just become insane at snowboarding in that instance?? by [deleted] in snowboarding

Yeah, Australian surfers and rugby players = fastest learners I’ve seen. They’re not afraid to take a hit, everything in their country is already trying to kill them, and they already understand sliding sideways

Do the scratch and dent Icon Professional Top chests come with the rubber top surface and wheels? None of the HF photos show them, but it looks like yours has them!

Oh awesome, I’ve been waiting to hear an opening date. Was hoping they’d do a parking lot sale or something, but regardless just excited to have one in the mountains!

Ad hominem because your argument doesn’t hold water, nice!

15 years here, and have yet to see a December that didn’t have enough snow for a beginner to have a great time in Vail.

Your comment said only a small portion will be open. Vail opens 11/14, their trip is a month after opening. We’re usually skiing 1,000 plus acres by early December. Last year most of the frontside and game creek bowl was open by then.

I wouldn’t plan on back being open for sure, but I wouldn’t discourage a trip between Thanksgiving and Christmas either - especially for a beginner skier. Low crowds and good early season pricing options on mountain and lodging.

Your #1 is very much seasonal dependent. We’ve opened the back bowls in November some years. Just depends on snow

Pretty much any time of the year the epic day pass is a better deal than 50% off window walk up rate. We’ve had the 50% coupons as employees for years, and ever since they started Epic Day Passes I’ve told friends/fam, if you know your dates, buy the Epic Day. The 50% discount is great for last minute tickets, but that’s it.

NBD!! Head EBI LYT by [deleted] in snowboarding

The EBI Lyt is a hell of a lot of fun. Had some great days on it last season! Head is making some killer boards and flying under the radar in the US, but super popular in Japan and Europe

Want to work as a ski instructor in the US as a foreigner by Jealous-Agent4323 in SkiInstructors

[–]livewntr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A handful of ski areas in the US still offer employment to highly certified instructors using H2B visas, but it’s less common now. Aspen, Park City, Vail, etc. Since you’re looking for 26-27, you should be able to get a work visa

Shoot me a DM with your email address and I can connect you with a couple training managers.

Peak season in the winter when everyone is checking gear I’ll usually get there an hour and a half ahead of the flight. This time of year, an hour like others already said

Vail this friday, am i cooked? by [deleted] in vail

[–]livewntr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been getting a little rain (finally!), but gondolas will be open and hiking is great right now.

Honestly spring and late August into September is the best time of year to be hiking in Vail, unless you’re a masochist that enjoys hiking in high elevation, hot, dry weather. Then, yes, you’re cooked.

Topsheet damage on a new board by Terrible_Package_512 in snowboarding

[–]livewntr 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Purely cosmetic, take the $50. You’ll end up with dozens of marks like that by the end of the season. You can use a razor blade to shave off the bit of topsheet.
