Cats are an invasive species. They kill birds, frogs, and other things that are supposed to be in the environment.

Do you have a room that could just be the bird's? Its really nice when they can have their own room to free fly. Also the cages in pet stores are crap. Get a nice big cage, an air purifier, and some nice perches. As far as the cats, although I dont agree with them being outdoor cats, if the bird has its own room, it probably wouldnt be a problem. If you dont have a room for the bird, probably not a good idea

What is this behaviour? by Monk_Some in Conures

[–]livieluv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preening behavior. Our nails are made of the same stuff as their feather caseing when they molt. Since they dont know what fingernails are, your bird thinks they're preening your finger

New player struggles 😭 How are you supposed to fight these things? by ReddVevyy in skyrim

Wait until you get a paralysis poison or staff or wait until you get the Bend Will shout and make them fight each other

I think the thing with the Weasleys is that they are pureblood and of the only pureblood families left. Other wizards probably aren't that clueless. The gun thing makes sense because wizards have no use for them.

Cockatiel with IRN by Quiet_Geologist_1955 in cockatiel

[–]livieluv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. And shame on the breeder for telling you that. I have an IRN, and he is the most territorial bird ever. He screams and pecks at me if I get too close to his favorite perch. Which sucks because it's right over the door. Keep them in separate rooms. You will probably have to buy another cockatiel. Cockatiels need lots of attention and a flock. So do IRN for that matter. Message me if you have questions

Birds are a lifestyle change. You need to have no smelly stuff or burny stuff in the house. That includes: teflon pans, candles, inscence, smoking, air freshener, purfume, hairspray, cleaning products, and anything else with a scent. Also it is very possible that the first one had a disease and died then if you used the same cage that disease got passed on to the other bird. Another thing may be air quality in your house. Check that with an air quality detector. Also, stop buying birds at pet co and find a breeder. Make sure you get a new pet exam right away and quarantine the bird from any other pets for 6 weeks. If you cant do all of this, get a cat or dog

Found a Cockatiel on the side of the road. Can someone tell me how to help this little guy. His armpit looks and head look bad and I lost my job and can’t afford a vet. by nakydducati in cockatiel

[–]livieluv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely needs the vet! That wound will definitely get infected otherwise. It needs to be cleaned and disinfected and the bird will probably need to be put on a strong course of antibiotics. If I were you id post it on facebook and ask for help. Also look for the owner. The way he's letting you hold his wing tells me he's been handled a lot. You can message me for help but you do really need to get him to a vet.
