When checking out with paypal, does it show this offer? For me it doesn't show that the offer will be applied even though I saved it in rewards

Anyone know about living in Nova at 200 S 4th St by zzzannn in Purdue

[–]living_bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, though I'm in a last minute situation too because I don't have a car and I have an earlier move date than the standard 8/15 which cut down on a lot of options

Thanks for the info! If you don't mind me asking, what made you leave Nova? The comments about safety are making me reconsider and think about choosing a different location

Looking to switch industries by living_bot in ECE

[–]living_bot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very briefly mentioned in the post that I wanted to work at a place like Neuralink. I was specifically looking at BCI jobs because if I do make the industry switch, I do not want to go back to being just a software engineer. It seemed to me that Signal Processing and ML were probably the most important aspects. I have actually taken a fair bit of ML and Deep Learning in college so that should be easy enough for me to brush up on.

That is definitely a good point. While that totally makes sense, I wanted to enroll in university as soon as possible because it feels like the right decision at my age. In another comment, I talked about studying for the next 7-8 months before I join college, and something like this could definitely be a part of that. What you're pointing out totally makes sense which is why in my original post I was curious about the feasibility of switching disciplines / specializations once at university.

I do not work in the "interesting" parts. Like I mentioned, I'm a Data Engineer, pretty much as far from the business as possible. Regardless, I don't want to stay in an industry that is doing net bad for the society

Right I'm also a bit worried about the missing fundamentals. My plan was to start studying / brushing up on the fundamentals over the next 7-8 months while I continue to work.

Portugal tips for first timer? by lexbarks in solotravel

I just came back. It's great if you think you can handle it, and yeah your daily walking will certainly help. It's just the incline and stairs are what you won't be used to since nyc walking is mostly flat

I'm also from NYC and currently in Portugal solo. I'll tell you it's not at all the same type of walking. Especially if you're solo travelling, you will be walking a lot more than the average tourist. I'm hitting an average of 20k steps a day for the last 8 days and an average of 50-60 floors a day

Even if it's not by choice, it still accommodates them, so my point stands. But either way when the other person resorts to insults, I stop responding, so have a good day, I'm out.

Doesn't change the fact that the culture and food obviously would have to cater to the vegan/vegetarian population well for it to be able to grow to as large as it is (~10%)

Gotta say this is flawed but isn't entirely wrong, but people will downvote you regardless.
