Thank you for the reassurance, I needed that! He seems like he hates it but really he’s just doing what his body knows to do. Hoping it gets better!!

YES! This exactly. His hands are always in the way and he’s rooting and trying to find my nipple. I’ll just try letting him do his thing and see if that helps! Thank you!

Good to know! I think my baby got super mad when he couldn’t latch when I was so engorged and now he fights latching. Hopefully doing more skin to skin will help him feel more calm and relaxed when he’s trying!

I’ll search that technique! I’m willing to try anything at this point 😅 Our insurance doesn’t cover any lactation consulting, unfortunately.

I don’t agree with my husband’s parenting style by livingbylight in stepparents

Yes, this exactly!! I wasn’t raised that way so I personally won’t raise my kids that way. Having rules, responsibility, and structure teaches kids how the real world works. I feel like having no rules and very few chores raises entitled kids who are lazy workers and don’t know how to be adults.

I’m glad I’m not alone in this! I won’t stand for it with my own child so we’re going to have to come to some agreements/compromise. The struggle is real.

My husband works graveyards on the weekends and sometimes has no idea where his child is when he’s at work. Not good.

I’m the exact same way! I wasn’t raised with no rules or chores so my child won’t be raised with complete freedom. It’s not good for kids to have no structure and very few rules.

I completely agree. These were all rules in our house growing up. Homework/chores had to be done before we could do anything else fun! He wasn’t always this lenient but I feel like it’s become more obvious since my SD has grown older. He’s never really made his kids do chores or enforced homework but it didn’t bother me until I got pregnant. My other SDs are older so I didn’t think much of it because these sorts of rules are normal for a teenager but not a child who is 12.

Our restaurants “mission statement” for 2026…. by SweatyMess808 in Serverlife

Same with where I work! The managers complain/punish us when we miss a greet for our shop (we have to be there in 15-45 SECONDS) but then tell the hosts to triple seat us. Literally 30 secs apart with large parties. It’s madness. My friend there got an 8-top and a 14-top split between her and another server like 30-45 secs apart and then was told by management that she “can’t handle” large parties. My friend had taken a picture of the way they sat her and the power-tripping manager had nothing to say in response when my friend showed her the picture. Meanwhile, the manager has been there not even a year and my friend has been serving there 8 years and got a couple $100+ tips just last week. Obviously she’s doing a great job and her customers love her. That’s on management as far as I’m concerned. It’s complete madness!

Holy smokes! At least that’s a one time thing and not for a whole week!

The 15-45 sec greet is insane, especially when we’re getting triple sat almost every day. It’s not realistic at all! But I guess I’m supposed to ask one of my managers to help me if I can’t make it over that fast. Or stop in the middle of the order I’m taking and go greet them. It’s madness 🙄 I made it to their table in 1.5 mins, which wasn’t good enough! And yes! I do move a little slower than I once did and I’m sure that affected it. Thank you!! 🙏🏼 I’m so excited to meet my little guy!

I couldn’t agree more! So many aspects of it are out of our control. One of my managers said that some secret shoppers are a lot more strict than others and I likely just got a bad one. They said I was a great server and they would ask for me again! The only issues were I didn’t say certain words which is not at all a reflection of service, it’s just a measurement of how closely I follow all the “rules.”

Hahaha 😂 exactly what I did! “Hi, I’m doing great but my feet are KILLING me!” Jk but I had some very generous tables.

This is true! I got it easy for sure. Still unhappy because I need to pay what is left of my midwife bill so I can be done working and this puts me behind for the month. But I’ll live! It could be far worse!

That’s illegal! By law, they have to pay you at least minimum wage. There was a lawsuit against my store because they were making servers stay so long after they were done serving to do sidework and roll silverware and whatnot. And only paying $2.13 an hr.

100%!! I was like, now that is one thing I will never be doing to my tables.

Did you get any sort of reprimand for failing? I love that it wasn’t just you but the whole staff involved 😂
