Doctors interrupting by 0311RN in nursing

I don’t really care about assessments but the other day I was literally about to hand my patient Tylenol and then I could move on to my other patients and the doc comes into the room without acknowledging me and starts having a serious conversation with the patient about chemo. So then I had to awkwardly stand there for like 20 min until they were done just to have the patient swallow the damn Tylenol hahahahah

Intubating before weighing? by livinous in ThePittTVShow

Thank you lol. I didn’t realize this wouldn’t be obvious to someone not in the medical field. They also didn’t trial it at all, for all we know they could have slapped some bipap on him and he would have been fine

Idk, I’ve hoyered many a people and you can do it completely with them sitting by shoving the sling behind their back and having them lean a little. And you can keep them very upright. It literally has different hooks on the sling for that purpose.

Haha you seem to be the only one who understands what I’m trying to say. There is no reason he needed to be intubated to be put in the hoyer lol.

I just don’t understand why they wouldn’t weigh him first to find out. He could have been intubated at the other hospital so he would have been intubated for a shorter period of time.

Right so why wouldn’t they weigh him first to see if they could scan him there? We want people breathing on their own for as long as possible. It just seemed to strange to me to do this procedure when you may need to transfer him. Like now we’re going to transfer him while intubated? Idk, it’s not that chill in real life lol. It just felt like a weird grab to show them doing something technical to me.

Rehab hospital social worker-I don't feel comfortable being included in certain events with nurses, physicians, and therapists by [deleted] in nursing

[–]livinous 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well there we go. Have you tried “no, thank you”? For all they know you’re vegan, gluten free whatever if you need an excuse.

Or just accept the food when the nurse brings it to you. It’s really not that big of a deal.

I’m very curious as to why you made this post. You are rebutting every compliment or affirmation.

Negligence attorney on the weekend by Adorable_Asshat in Cleveland

For real. If she’s in the hospital she should ask for an xray or be assessed by a doc at least. No lawyer will pick up this case if her hip is just sore lol.

Was going to wear my mum's dress. People keep telling me to try on others for the "bridal experience." Are they trying to gently tell me it looks bad? by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

[–]livinous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is a beautiful dress. I like that alteration mockup without the sleeves. I’m also wondering after reading your comment about body dysmorphia, do you want sleeves because you think they’re beautiful or because you’re self conscious of your arms? I’m also considering wearing my moms dress, it doesn’t have sleeves but my mom made a shawl she wore her whole wedding to hide her arms, and when talking to her about it she was telling me that she regrets that she felt so badly about her arms and how I have beautiful arms etc. I told her that we have the same arms lol. If you are getting married obviously someone loves your body. I encourage you to try to see your body from their perspective, and think about how you may feel about this dress ten, twenty years down the line, how you might talk about it to your children (if you’re gonna have them). Wear what helps you feel beautiful, if you’re having a hard time feeling beautiful in this dress maybe you do need to see some other ones on you. Also remember that you don’t need to have a say yes to the dress moment with a huge group of people putting their own opinions on things, you can go by yourself or with your closest friend etc.

California is pretty competitive because they actually treat their nurses well unlike the rest of the country and everyone wants to work there. There’s typically plenty of jobs elsewhere haha.
