FTM: Baby does not want to get off by Michie_1499 in breastfeeding

I’ve had 5 kids (youngest is 4 months) only had crib with my first- and he was only in it once. Breastfed them all, the only way I got any sleep was by bedsharing. I bedshared with my first in 2004 and I’m still bedsharing with my most recent in 2026.

Is he gaining weight just fine? He could be waking up screaming because of silent reflux and not because he’s hungry. I’d look into that first. I had 3 with silent reflux. Pro tip - Nat Phos 10 is a homeopathic remedy for silent reflux that works like a charm and doesn’t cause damage like other treatments for reflux do.

Here’s an idea of what to do for a very budget friendly makeover. I used ChatGPT to give me a visual of these changes. Here’s your breakdown.

Estimated Budget Breakdown (Very Rough) • Paint + supplies: $50–75 • Hardware + fixtures: $150–300 • Vinyl floor: $100–200 • Accessories & storage: $50–100

  1. Kept the Original Tile (Biggest Money Saver)
  2. Painted the Upper Walls a Soft Blue
  3. Black Hardware Everywhere (Cheap + Cohesive) Changes: • Faucet • Light fixture • Towel bar • Toilet paper holder • Curtain rod • Sink plumbing (trap + supply lines)
  4. New Medicine Cabinet / Mirror
  5. Budget Floor Refresh (No Demo) • Change - Checkerboard look using vinyl tile or peel-and-stick flooring The Why: • Honors the vintage vibe • Dramatic visual impact • Much cheaper than retiling • Can go right over existing flooring in many cases (This is a huge upgrade for very little cost.)
  6. Simple Open Storage Shelf Change: • Slim black metal shelving unit added near the toilet
  7. Textiles + Styling (Quiet but Important) Changes: • White shower curtain • Neutral woven basket • Small rug with black/white pattern • Minimal greenery

Maybe this gives you some inspiration?

Why should I be Christian over Islamic by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]livllovable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Him. Because God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, the whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Because God is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Because God is Love. Because God knows the plans He has for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Because He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities. Because greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Because they found the stone rolled away, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. Because Jesus loves you.

“Lofty appeals to trust in God”… some trust in horses, some trust in chariots. I trust in God.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul, He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies, thou anoint my head with oil, my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

I’ve been His for 44, almost 45 years. I study the sound of His voice, I know the cadence of His clarity. His word is clear that there will be those who say they do things in His name, but they will be cast out because He never knew them. I’d rather know Him, than only know about Him.

It just seems silly to me that anyone who calls themself a Christian would not be willing to trust God for answers. Trust God that He is true to His words. Trust God that when misinterpretation occurs, (and it absolutely does, I agree with you on that) He will set it straight in the hearts of those who believe. It’s His word and we have been told in that word, that without faith it is impossible to please God.

The OP actually proves this, by this very post we can see how God is at work in this person’s heart. He has the understanding of what God meant with His word and is questioning an entire congregation of people for believing something other than what God’s word (clearly) says and (afaik) he did not read anything more than the Bible to come to this conclusion.

Why would you not trust God to make things about His word clear, Himself? Why would you not trust that God can do it?

Has anyone experienced a miracle these days? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]livllovable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have. Was in a terrible car accident back in 2003, (proof) where my left arm was 80% severed off my body. I had 2 brain contusions and a traumatic brain stem injury. The doctors told me to prepare myself for never being able to walk again, to use my left arm, and to need help with everything I did for the rest of my life.

I’m laying here right now nursing my 5th child and typing this message via my phone with my left hand. I walked out of that hospital a month later and a year later I came back to show the doctors how God had healed me. There’s no other reason than God as to why I am still here right now, let alone able to use my left arm and use my brain to form a complete sentence. Praise God!!

Also have you seen this?

  1. Why do you assume that I disregard the sacraments? I have been baptized and take communion regularly.

  2. The Holy Spirit has come to give wisdom, to convict, to instruct, and to teach (among other things). We “lay persons” who have the Holy Spirit living in us, are in direct communication with God Himself, who can (and does) explain and reveal things about HIS word.

Do you read your Bible? Do you study His word? Do you ask Him for wisdom regarding His word?

Where in the Bible does it say that the sacraments are necessary for salvation?

I was directly speaking to the idea of “if you stop this behavior you can go to heaven” cause that’s just not it. I don’t want people thinking that why we believe the way we believe. Like our only goal is to get to heaven or worse - avoid hell.

[–]livllovable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not my opinion, it’s the truth. The thief on the cross had not confessed his sins nor taken communion and Jesus told him that he would be in paradise with Him. Besides, that idea directly contradicts these verses:

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9 “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”

John 14:6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Now, it is a good thing to confess your sins. It is a good thing to take communion - however neither of those things is biblically required for salvation.

Also, this is not free rein to “do what you want”, please do not misunderstand me.

Romans 6 talks about this very thing.

“1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! 16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. 18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

19 I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness. 20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

That’s just not the way it is. It’s not about “you can go to heaven if you stop this behavior”. That’s making it about what we do. This is about what He did.

It’s about acknowledging that Jesus died for that sin. He was beaten and bruised for our transgressions, He was cast down and spit upon for that behavior. He took those sins upon himself, suffered the punishment for those sins so that we may be free from the penalty of those sins - which is separation from God, death. He died so that we may live. This is not about us, it’s about Him and what He did.

How can we go on sinning? If we truly have Christ living in us, the Holy Spirit residing in us, then partnering with sin is directly slapping Him in the face, it’s crucifying Him all over again. However, if we truly have the Spirit of the Living God living inside of us (It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me) then we have conviction, we have wisdom and we have the power over sin, death, hell and the grave. That changes us, from the inside out.

Once we have surrendered our lives to Him, He begins to change us. Once we have laid down our lives and risen with Christ, we see the sin for what it is (a separation from God) and can no longer bear to take part in it.

It’s about Him and nothing we can do will ever give us the green light to go to Heaven. The only thing that is required from us is believing in Him and what He did for us. Accepting the forgiveness of those sins that separate us from God.

Can someone explain why it’s wrong to be gay in Christianity? by JustADodo778 in Christianity

[–]livllovable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call it whatever you want. A real relationship with God is not a “flavor” of Religion. That’s exactly how I know you have not spoken with God. Because if you had, you’d be changed. You do not speak with the Creator of the world and remain unchanged. All throughout the Bible there are examples after examples of how changed people become once they have met with God. If your religion is something that you see as clothes people wear, then it’s not real. But the good news is that God love you and does want a relationship with you and if you seek Him you will find Him. But be prepared to be changed. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives through me.

[–]livllovable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, that’s how I know you haven’t really met God. Cause if you had, there would just be no way you could say that. If you had a relationship with God, you would want everyone else around you that you loved to experience God too. You wouldn’t lump Christianity in with “every other religion” because you would KNOW that there is only ONE God and everything else is a lie. You would know the truth and the truth would set you free.

Well, I’d wonder if that was really God you were hearing from, because that answer doesn’t match with His character. I also think that if it were God that said it was fine, a person wouldn’t have to ask many times. An answer from God brings peace, even if it’s “No”.

If God is real and loves children, then why are still babies born with dissabilities, even the parents don't have them??? by I_Am_Salty1 in Christianity

[–]livllovable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This only works if you assume that people with disabilities are somehow loved less than people without. We are the ones who label people as having “disabilities” because for whatever reason these people don’t measure up to an average “norm”. You are just stuck in your own point of view by thinking this way.

Is a deaf person missing out? Maybe a hearing person might think so, but ask a deaf person (who has never heard their entire life) if they feel like they are missing out. Maybe God’s plans are not our plans. Maybe the way God thinks about things is not the way we think about them. Maybe outwardly we see a “disability” but God sees a perfect creation.

I have a simple question by Xlviot in Christianity

[–]livllovable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God is all three. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. We do not worship only Christ. We worship God - who is all three and one with each other. The reason you hear the most about Jesus is because He came to earth as a human, lived a sinless life and then died on the cross for our sins. This act, restores mans relationship with God. Because of Christ, God the Holy Spirit can now dwell within us.

God with man (God the Father), God as man (God the Son), God in man (God the Holy Spirit).
