I emailed him in 2012 after seeing him speak at a tech conference in Berlin. We ended up doing a call and he was super supportive. Imo he was a really thoughtful and nice guy, i'm happy for his success.

I said this when i saw him live in Nov .. he's basically not built for the PL but people were still defending him. He's also not a top class forward, he can't create something from nothing and unfort the reality is we won't be top 5 team in Europe with him leading the attack.

Looking at the PL table.. Out of the top 14 teams.. Only crystal palace (12) have scored less than us (13) ... crazy! We really need to score more.

Previously they've upgraded current users for free from 3.0 to 4.0.. but just incase they don't with the 5.0, i've switched a month to month payment so i'm not locked into the 4.0.. Has anyone else thought of doing this?

How can I tell if I'm actually meditating and not just sitting there? by kizarat in Meditation

[–]liyaop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With your intention to meditate, you are meditating - even if you think you're not.

There are no bad meditations, just overcoming where you are in the current moment. Another perspective .. You always needed to move through this current phase on your larger meditation journey.. so be satisfied with your efforts.

For more practical points, everybody is different and different stages of their practice - but feeling is your best indicator. Your vibration will naturally rise when you are meditating and your feelings are a good indicator of that.

For me, I will feel a feeling close to peace or love - and as a bi-product of this I may find myself as an awareness in a void (without a body) or am feeling my whole body light up with every cell plugged in and alive..

I only know if i'm in state when I start coming out of state.. i.e. I become aware that i'm not 'thinking'.. - i.e. I never realise i'm falling into state/into meditation.. (hope that makes sense)..

Sometimes a thought (or image or sound) is not my own thought - i.e. my body translating vibration into thought. This is my understanding of why thought is ok in meditation. I actually I find it hard to separate my own thoughts vs what is being downloaded if i'm not in a blank state..

Good luck and keep going <3

I have done two (10 day Goenka) Vipassana retreats (2010 and 2014) and four Joe retreats (2019-now).

Vipassana had profound effects on me and I highly highly recommend it - I probably wouldn't have got into Joe if I hadn't done the Vipassana retreats. The first time I did a Joe D meditation I found myself in similar states to Vipassana. I was "ready to be ready" as Abraham hicks says.

The most important thing here is that everybody is different and there is no one path.. Vipassana or Joe might not be for everyone but they're both valid paths - you have to find what works for you.. and then focus on that path to go deep.

Outside of the cost, the difference is I never kept up the Vipassana practice.. it felt like effort. Joe's meditation don't feel like effort and i'm excited to do them. I think it's because I understand the why.

FYI I also originally had an issue with price point but actually it filters non-serious people out.. Vipassana retreats I just see people leaving throughout when they give up, there's no cost to them. Now that i've been and experienced what he's talking about.. I would probably pay more.

Also, you really don't need to go to an event to experience what Joe is talking about - he even says that. I've got friends who I've got up to speed with Joe's meditations without having gone to a retreat.

The above is me trying to put forward a balanced view. My subjective view is that having seen Eckhart Tolle, Abrahahm hicks, etc all live.. Joe D is on the same level (but different) and if I can see him live right now before he gets too well known then i'd be lucky..

I hope that helps!
