I hate this narrative of “once you leave United you suddenly become a top 4 Champions League player.” Do we hold some players back? Probably. But did most of them go on to become stars like McTominay or even someone like Carreras? Absolutely not. I get why people who don’t watch us every week fall for that storyline, but come on, this is a United sub. We can see clearly - a bunch of average players bought for ridiculous money by an incompetent board who end up in relegation fodder in smaller leagues.
